The agonizing two month wait is over! Sam & Max 202: Moai Better Blues is here for your volcano god pacifying and spelunking pleasure.
If you already bought it as part of Season Two, simply head over to your My Telltale page, download and enjoy! And if you're still on the fence, check out the free demo.
Also, we don't mean to brag or anything, but some great reviews have already come out...
GamesRadar -- 9/10
"Two episodes in, the second "season" of Sam & Max is already blowing the first six-game series out of the water. In fact, it's not a stretch to say that Episode 202: Moai Better Blues is the best game so far in the demented point-and-click series about a dog detective and his gruesome rabbit sidekick. It's certainly the funniest by a wide margin, being the first episode to actually make us laugh out loud more than once. And considering what a bunch of jaded humor snobs we are, that's no small compliment."
Adventure Gamers -- 4/5
"The most creatively strange game yet in the series; a significant number of new and gorgeous environments along with an amazing soundtrack; those frustrated with easy games should find more challenge here. There are criticisms, to be sure, but ultimately they feel like small nitpicks on what is an intelligent and wildly creative episodic adventure that continues the series with the requisite lunacy."
Cinematic Happenings Under Development -- 8.5/10
"As always, the humor is where its at. This episode seems to be the most niche of all of them, and if you don't know about the history of the Bermuda triangle and the people who supposedly got sucked into it you'll miss a bunch of jokes. Besides that, the Moai statues are hysterical, and especially their infatuation of them by Abraham Lincoln's severed head."
IGN -- 8.2/10
"Moai Better Blues is shorter and smaller than previous installments in the series. Compared to the sprawling locales and stories of Reality 2.0 or Situation: Comedy, this episode seems almost too short. But size and length isn't an indication of quality. If anything, the smaller scale means that there's no filler here. Everything you come across is pure comedic content. Moai Better Blues never loses its focus so you'll get as much enjoyment out of its two-hour length than the three or four hours you spent playing some of the previous episodes. Add in puzzles that require multiple leaps of logic and a longer memory and it's easy to see why we're so encouraged by the direction that Telltale is taking this series."
GameBoomers -- A-
"Sam & Max Episode 202: Moai Better Blues is an excellent presentation from Telltale Games, as always; the style has been maintained, and the quality remains high in all aspects of the game from music, to acting, story, and graphics."
Jolt -- 8.2/10
"In terms of overall quality though, which is the aspect which really counts, Moai Better Blues is easily in the same league as Ice Station Santa. While we're probably still one episode away from unequivocally recommending a purchase of the whole season now, despite what we would argue is a low likelihood of the remainder turning out to be duffs, there's no doubt that Sam & Max are as on form as they ever have been. Our only question is if Father Christmas has featured at Christmas and Easter Island has featured in mid-winter, what's the setting going to be at Easter?"

SCREW YOU, TIME ZONES! :/
I've been waiting on the release the whole day and it's 7:22 pm here right now...
Now it's time to make a hard decision... play 2x02 or watch the German version of Are you smarter than a 5th grader? on tv... oh, wait. No, it isn't. *keeps watching the awfully slow download bar in Firefox...*
Thanks for 2x02, already looking forward to next month's episode :D

He is actually a she, a very good host and she's proven herself while starring in the most successful improv-comedy show Germany had yet (the concept of that series has been sold in various countries, and that's though German humor is considered to be very... well... "special" ^^).
She's completely different to him, but she does a pretty good job. I don't like the "translation" of the show's title though. It's called "Das weiß doch jedes Kind" here, which would be something like "Every kid knows that". It kinda broke the line the contestants have to say when they drop out. "I am not smarter than a 5th grader" mutated to something like "Every kid knows that. But me, I don't.". The show's concept is still pretty good and working, even though we have a completely different scholar system than the US. ^^

I thought they put it back up this morning? Is something else wrong?

It shouldn't be that slow but it seems like some people in the Netherlands are experiencing problems. You could try a mirror like Worth Playing or Gamer's Hell.

Leonil, I removed your post to the hints forum since it contains game spoilers: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=49915
Hero, the email hasn't gone out yet, but it will today. We meant to get it out sooner but got foiled by life. Luckily with the new system there is no real need for the email because you don't have to use a special unique download link anymore.

Just thought I'd mention...(I don't think there are many spoilers here since it was all in the trailer) In the second "area" of the island (with the babies etc.), Sam doesn't seem to be able to run. I'm able to run by double clicking everywhere else but there.

In areas where running would cause the cameras to go berzerk, double-clicking makes Sam walk faster instead of run. It's not a bug, it's a feature. ;)

Ah, I did notice that Sam walked a bit faster, but I figured it had something to do with a bug with running or something. Okay then.

i played the Gametap version and i have a question, it had a glitch where there were 3 tasks baby jimmy wanted you to do.....and i played the Telltale one and it had only one of tasks, why'd you take the other one out?

Because we held a playtest and no one really liked that puzzle -- including the designers.
GameTap accidentally posted a beta build of the game. That puzzle was never supposed to see the light of day, along with a lot of other bugs that were in that version. They've replaced it with the real version now, though.

Wow, nice review scores you guys have been getting! While this wasn't my favorite episode (it just seemed so short compared to Ep201), I do have to agree that it was one of the funniest, if not the funniest, episodes. The dialog after drinking the water was some of the funniest ever, and there were many other clever lines that had me SIMCCing (squirming in my chair chuckling).

Great episode, just challinging enough and never frustrating. Lots of fun. Glenn Miller was my favorite, getting DRM into those shells. :D You know what cracked me up, though? Yesterday night they incidentally showed the Mythbusters episode seaching for Jimmy Hoffa. Just after I finished playing, that was.
Hooray Telltale.

Hey Telltale guys, I tryed the free demo; and I must say, IT WAS AWESOME!! I've seen so many humorous features! I can think of three things that I loved.... 1) Max farts!; 2) One of the "male" moai is a woman! I suspected that one maybe a transsexual; 3) Flint Paper is spying on Bosco. Great, another paranoid fruit bat!

You know, it seems now that just like season 1, season 2 gets off to a slow start.
Bear with me.
A slow start comparatively.. to the rest of the season. Episode 1 of Season 1 was great, but the later episodes blew it out of the water no sweat. And Ice Station Santa was a hoot (the twist shocked me, I must admit) but already you've topped it and all before (except the War Room song. Sorry, but it's true). And I'm waiting for the next game, cause it'll blow away Episode 2 as well!
But now that I've passed MBB, I *really* want to see that beta version of the game, that sort of thing always fascinates me. Curses for not checking Gametap while it was there!
You wouldn't happen to have that beta un-release copy as a present for fans, would you? Maybe include it on the eventual Season 2 DVD as an in-joke? Pretty please?

Man, 202 was AWESOME. (got to play most of it before I left Friday and finished it today!) I bet you could have got the rights for the real Sea Chimps though. ;) They're cool people.

Hey, did you know that the Sea Chimps first appeared in one of the episodes of The Sam&Max cartoon show? Except, they animated them differently. I think their in the one with a giant swamp monster.
I'm sorry if this is off topic but oh my gosh! A man in the new episode of American Dad has a fish shaped head! He almost looks like Mac Salmon but without the fish bowl.
well the 1st task is the normal one that is put in the Episode the 2nd task is having to count what the 3 babys order which was extremely hard and the 3rd was totaly stupid and i forgot what it was.
