Sam & Max turn to stone (sort of)
Posted by emily February 1, 2008
As if the games, Surfin' the Highway reprint (almost ready for release!), and Freelance Police animated series DVD (coming March 11!!) aren't enough, the Sam & Max revolution now includes a new, limited edition statue from Symbiote Studios. Steve met these guys at Comic-Con last summer and was impressed with their work -- which is really the best stamp of approval a Sam & Max fan can ask for.

Steve's concept art, and presumably what the statue will look like...

It looks awesome, useless for anything other than decoration and showing off your nerdiness (paperweight?), and more than I'd normally spend on something of its type.
All in all, the ultimate souvenir!
Stupid San Francisco, getting all the cool conventions with cool swag...

A question re: the animated series.

Is the DVD Region-free/Multi-Region or are just the american fans getting the loving?

Has it been that long since Sam and Max were on TV? I'ma getting old.

Now we need a feature-length-effects-laden-over-hyped-cgi-cutting-edge film.

Yes we do.

I was just on IGN, and they've put up an article about this. (http://comics.ign.com/articles/849/849219p1.html)
I mean, I already knew, but it's cool to see this kind of thing getting some more mainstream coverage.
Unfortunately, they stated that Hit the Road came before the comics. A tiny error, to be sure, but come on, fact checking please?

There are tons of gold-plated commemorative Lugers out there, we now need a Commemorative Freelance Police BFR(Biggest, Finest, Revolver). I nominate the Smith and Wesson 500 Magnum with the 12" barrel. I wear XXXL T-Shirts and that pistol dwarfs me. It's the first revolver I've ever seen that you can get a bipod for. Really!

Still about the DVD: will it have subtitles (in English) or are just the native or otherwise-really-fluent English speakers fans getting the aforementioned loving? ;))

Thank you.
