This is why we can't have nice things

As some of you may have noticed, we are currently hiring for a concept artist. In anticipation of this presumably awesome person who will someday work for us, I found myself placing an order for a 21 inch Wacom Cintiq tablet. Once the deliveryman left us our new toy, I set it up on an empty desk and walked away, brushing the dirt from my hands with a smug sense of accomplishment.

Unfortunately, a number of other people in the office realized that they could use this unattended toy to actually draw things on. Begrudgingly, I present to you, our fine readers, the results of leaving a tablet out in the office for a week.

Is Jake's parents Bugs Bunny and Baby Herman? Assuming that is a self portrait of course.

I doodle stuff like Pete's first drawing all the time!

Who needs concept artists when you have upcoming talents such as the likes of Pete Aleman?

Seriously, Sam and Max need to be done in abstract. We won't know what the hell we're playing, but sure as hell will break down that whole video game isn't an artform mishmash.

I am displeased!

Shaun's painting is great, my favorite ;)

And you should let Nick Herman do all your art stuff and make him Senior Lead 2D Masterpaintings Master right now!

I yearn for the usage of tablet...
I commend Pete for using colours besides blue and black, which seem to be the favourite. And I just adore Mai's.. I think it's the bowtie. :B

I'm proud of being the worst sketch in the group! As you can tell, I am not that good of a drawer.

That bird was drawn by Andrew Langley. I'm 100% sure.

I love the "right now someone is using the Cintiq Tablet. Think about it!" one. :D

Good guess, but no. I drew something that was related to our not-yet-announced game, so I guess that's why it wasn't posted. Or maybe it was so poorly drawn that it made babies cry.

Yeah a few drawings were censored for they-would-spill-the-beans purposes. And other purposes.
Comment by Jake July 11, 2008, 9:51 pm
Dirty purposes.

Awesome sketches! I've been doodling with my mouse and it's not nearly as precise as I'd like. Sketches are therapeutic!
