Sam & Max: The Statue
Posted by Mike W. February 3, 2009

If you've been keeping up on the latest Sam & Max merchandising news you probably know about Symbiote Studios and their amazing polystone Sam & Max statue. The statue was designed by Steve Purcell and lovingly crafted by the fine folks at Symbiote in a limited edition run of 1,000. Symbiote was kind enough to send us one for the office, and Steve was kind enough to stop by on his way to work one morning and sign the base in snazzy silver pen. Then we snapped some pictures to entice you to pick up your own!

I never did get that engineering degree but I'm fairly certain this is incorrect.

Using Telltale's custom private jet we were able to get this stunning aerial shot.

Pictures really don't do this thing any justice. It's beautifully made and it's huge!

If you're interested, head on over to the Symbiote Studios site and grab one. Like anything worth having, they won't be around forever!

Squee! That's the quickest seventy-five bucks I've ever spent!

Gee, the shipping to Australia is almost as expensive as the statue itself...

I mean, I'm still buying it, but all the same...

The third picture is one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen. I think I speak for all of when when I say that I want to see a photo of Max with Sam's shooting hand for a head.

You better hurry since there's only 1000 of them! It's a limited run like the hardcover Hit The Road reprint!

Forget that, tough time these days, I'm saving my money to stock up on luncheon meat (Spam) and Vienna sausages.

Would love one but really not sure I can justify the postage to Germany:

$52.50 - USPS Worldwide
$146.26 - UPS Worldwide Expedited
$161.76 - UPS Worldwide Express
$207.01 - UPS Worldwide Express Plus

OUCH!

I hate to toot my own horn, but my statue is sitting proudly on my basement counter, threatening a smack-down to any rodent with the chutzpah to make off with one of my Ballpark franks. One question, though ... are we supposed to be GLUING these things together? 'Cuz right now, gravity is the only thing keeping my beautiful (and expensive) statue from sliding into a pile of random Sam 'n Max-colored resin bits.

I really want one and I am willing to spend 75 bux on it, but with shiping to norway it will be 127$ + taxes, so all in all 158,75$ thats a bit to much for me :`(

This statue is way too awesome!

Makes me feel bad since I know I never could afford this, with shipping costages to Finland and all. Heck, I'm hardly approved to even use our credit card for online shopping.

The third picture = XD I want to see them make a fusion like that sometime.

Even though the site feels kind of small-time their support is really great. I zoned out while I was ordering mine and put Telltale's shipping address as my billing address (which is incorrect for my personal credit card) and they contacted me within a couple hours telling me that they couldn't charge my card since the address didn't match. I gave them my real address and everything went great and it's now on my desk at home, taking up space and looking awesome. If there's any problems at all with your order I'm sure they're all over it.

Just so you guys are aware, they now have 505 left.

You can check this by trying to order 1000 - it'll tell you "Not enough. Only X available." Considering they started with 1000, it probably means there's a few months before they sell out, if you need to save. Probably - keep an eye on stock level.

That's good to know, thanks! I think it really makes a difference when you're dealing with a small team of dedicated people versus a big business where you're customer number 962300001.

Just got mine in the mail today and have to say it looks fucking amazing. I wasn't expecting it to have a lot of weight to it, but it does and is nice because now I don't have to worry too terribly much about babying it.

Totally worth the $80 it was.

Hi all. I just got my statue today, and was wondering the same thing. I assembled it at my desk, at even trying to move it to the place i plan to stand in made it fall apart. Anyone else tried glueing?
