The City That Dares Not Sleep Release Date Revealed

The cat is out of the bag now – The City That Dares Not Sleep releases on PC and Mac this coming Monday, August 30 with the PlayStation Network version being unleashed upon the Earth the following day.

We, without fanfare, inserted the release date for the grand finale to Sam & Max – The Devil’s Playhouse into the trailer that Gamespot put up yesterday and our eagle eyed fans didn’t disappoint. Just minutes after the video went up we were receiving word that the secret was out – I guess you guys did watch the entire trailer.

So where do we find our heroic duo at the onset of the finale? After stopping an army of Sam clones, Max has been converted into a grotesque beast (a form even more terrible than his usual self) and is rampaging through the City. Fear not, all hope is not lost as Sam is still on the case in his efforts of restoring some semblance of normalcy to the City and rescuing his faithful rabbit-thing partner.

Don’t forget, if you’ve already purchased The Devil’s Playhouse through us, all you have to do is log-in to your Telltale account and download the episode on release day. You’ll also be able to get a hold of the finale, or the entire season for that matter, through your chosen point of purchase as well.

	Will General Skun-ka’pe’s origin be revealed as a terrible laboratory accident (sadly, sans torn lab coat)? Reminds me in how Mojo Jojo became who he was when he was still Professor Utonium's reckless lab assistant (both by accident and both share the same voice actor!) LOL!

	look out, Tokyo! It's Max! great trailer, looks like it'll be a great end to a fantastic season. The lighting, character models, and texture improvements in this season has made it the most cinematic yet, which really helps convey the story better. (The improved audio quality also helps, as I can understand the dialogue without having to crank up the volume like with Telltale's Wii releases.) I encouraged most of my friends to buy Tales of Monkey Island on PSN, which they happily did because they were able to also play Secret of Monkey Island 1 & 2 on PSN. I haven't had any luck with Sam & Max Season 3 because they don't want to jump into the 3rd season without playing the first one or two. Will season 1 and/or 2 be released on PSN after season 3 finishes, similar to the release pattern of season 2 on XBLA? If so, please have those releases include the improved lighting, textures, character models, and audio quality! Will there be a PlayStation Home personal (or public) space for Sam & Max? It would be awesome to have their office and the street with cameos by the C.O.P.S.! One nit I have and have heard from other people in Home and PSN buddies: people are really expecting a platinum trophy when paying the $35 for the whole season. On top of that, having each title be a separate entry in the XMB is really bothersome and the XMB is already difficult to navigate when there's lots of items in it. It would be WONDERFUL if future Telltale releases took the packaging/install approach of Siren: Blood Curse and Blue Toad Murder Files, both of which were also episodic. That way, a platinum trophy for completing all other trophies in the season would be possible, and it would be easier to navigate to the games in the XMB.

	Monday is a holiday in the UK, so I'm sure I'm not the only Briton who would love it if you release the game as early as possible so we have all day to play!

	Can't wait for this telltale will be hard at work getting rdy for release come this morning in USA. Its 9am in the uk so can't wait again. Curse the time difference its only about 1.30 am PST. Still loving looking forward to it. And as for the mystery game thing don't think it TOMI series 2. Cause they got Back to the future and JP to work on some time soon maybe christmas or new year for one of those.

	puzzle agent is currently in the review process by apple or is about to be but theres hope that it will be released in the coming few weeks really hoping well make this release date on Pacific Standard Time. it's 4:18pm here

	If we could pre-order Seasons 1 & 2 on PSN, like ubisoft did with the Scott Pilgrim vs The World game, I would do it right now! I played season 1 on Wii, but would gladly purchase and play it again if it had the improved models/textures/lighting from The Devil's Playhouse! PS: Please have future episodic releases on PSN install new chapters into a single XMB instance like Blue Toad Murder Files and Siren: Blood Curse. Also, please have a platinum trophy for completing all trophies in all episodes for a given season :)
