The 2010 Sort-of-Halloween Art Contest
Posted by Alan October 8, 2010

October is upon us so you know what that means. It's time for the Telltale Sort-of Halloween contest!

Looking through entries in Halloween contests past, I am astonished by the awesome artistic skill of fans and look forward to seeing what you guys come up with this year. Now that we've added Puzzle Agent, Back to the Future, and Jurassic Park to our repertoire, the creative possibilities for what you can do are seemingly endless.

Enough of my blabbering - on to the contest details.

How Do I Enter?

To enter, just make or do something creative that's based on any Telltale series past, present, or future, and send it to community@telltalegames.com. Making your entry Halloween-related isn't required, but as in past years, it's not a bad idea. It is October after all.

The medium you use for your entry - be it a drawing, video, interpretive dance, song, poem, or whatever tickles your fancy - is totally up to you. Please only send pictures of any physical items you make (statues, bedazzled halter tops, corn husk dolls) for obvious reasons.

The deadline for entries is October 26, so the Telltale staff has time to select and announce the winners on October 29! See below for full contest rules.

What Do I Win?

Grand Prize: One grand prize winner in this year's contest gets this totally awesome prize pack!

  • A $50.00 credit at either Amazon.com or iTunes (Winner's choice and depending on availability in region of residence)
  • Every digital PC/Mac title from TelltaleGames.com available as of October 31, 2010.
  • The Telltale Games Collector's DVD Library - Sam & Max - All Three Seasons, Tales of Monkey Island, and Wallace and Gromit, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People

Runners Up: Winners in this tier can choose between one of the following prize packs!

Sam & Max - Sam & Max: Complete Collection, The Devil's Playhouse Movie Poster Set, Signed The Devil's Playhouse Poster Print, and Sam & Max Freelance Police: The Complete Animated Series DVD

Tales of Monkey Island - Tales of Monkey Island: Deluxe Edition, Voodoo Card Set, Art Portfolio, and Drinking Vessel

A $50.00 Telltale Games Store Coupon - Use it on anything in our online store.

What Are The Rules?

These are pretty self-explanatory but here goes:

  • Apparently it's been said before, but I'll say it again: Do not do anything illegal for the sake of this contest.
  • Get your entries to community@telltalegames.com with 'Halloween Contest' as your subject. Make sure you get entries in by 2:00 pm Pacific Time on October 26, 2010.
  • Enter as many times as you wish, but you'll only win for one of your entries.
  • If you're sending your entry as an attachment, make sure it is under 2MB in size. If you do want to enter something larger than that, just host it online and send the URL in your entry email.

I must think of something. My song writing skills are: Crap
Poetry skills: Crap
Art skills: Crap
Photoshop skills: Crap.
Dance skills: Dosen't even make it to crap.
Video skills: My only camera is the one built in to my computer, so crap.

well, crap.

I'll think of something, it's the music part of the song writing that's the problem really. I guess it's time for TTG Rap. I finally have a use for that bit of Useful to Boot I have.

Little question... Can we use an existent song and re-do it in our own way? Kinda like a karaoke thing.

Aw, I was hoping to hold Telltale liable for death caused by technical malfunction of the computer dating mechanism, but it looks like your lawyers have that one covered!

Just wondering, can someone help you? And, if you are doing a combination of a drawing and photograpghs, and you are dressing up as someone, can you take some parts of the drawing to add to you photo? There are some bits of clothing I might not be able to find...

Awwwwww.... the winners' pictures of 2006, 2007 and 2008 are no longer on this blog. Bad thing! The internet is so... ephemeral... :(

prizes seem a lot toned down this year as compared to last year. with puzzle agent etc.. i was thinking they might add Wii and iPad / iPhones to prizes this year.

Guess I will be entering this year too, if just for the fun of it! I never get to celebrate Halloween in my area, but at leats drawing something related to it always gets my spirits up a little. :D

(hoping that I will come up with some inspiration, school's being really busy this year.)

"Telltale will also have the right (but not an obligation) to use your name and likeness in any and all media now known or hereafter devised for advertising, promotion and marketing for Telltale's business or its products without any further approval by you."

...so, by entering this contest, you may put my photo on your web page?! Forever?!

@Vainamoinen Yeah, I chose not to even link back to the past winner blogs because most of the pictures have disappeared.

@Nintomster Yes, you can have help. But only one of you, the person that enters, will win a prize if chosen.

Hello! In case you haven't noticed, I felt very creative in writing and in poetry skills, and so I wrote and submitted a very LONG poem about the Telltale Game-based Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 4 to this site. I'm still waiting for feedback, though, and hope they like my poem :)
