Part 2 of Our Behind the Scenes Look at Back to the Future: The Game
Posted by Alan October 23, 2010

Part 2 of our behind-the-scenes look at Back to the Future: The Game, 'Hey McFly', has been posted by our friends at GameTrailers

In this clip (after the jump), we reveal the voice behind our game's Marty McFly - A.J. Locascio. A.J. approached Telltale and blew the team away with how great he sounds in the legendary role. His performance even astonished Bob Gale and Christopher Lloyd, but I won't give away anything more about that.

Watch 'Hey McFly' after the jump!

It's so exciting to finally get to show this stuff to you as I, personally, was close to blowing a fuse with how awesome the game is!

Stay tuned on Monday when Part 3 of our behind-the-scenes videos, 'Creating the Game" goes live at GameTrailers!

He sounds good doing the yelling parts. i wanna hear him when he needs to speak normal. Also, it says right under the video: "in this video is your first look at what Marty's in-game model is looking like (it's not final)," but that's not true. Not ONE time do you see Marty's in-game model. You should remove that before people start getting confused.

I'm probably just blind, but I didn't see Marty's ingame model in that video.
But the replacement is excellent!

Wow, that's trippy. When people were suggesting James Arnold Taylor, I sort of felt that his impression had a hint of caricature to it, but this guy.... it's just a dead-on duplication of Marty's voice. Can't wait to hear more, and to see the game in action.

What really sold me was his laugh... It just sounded exactly like Marty's laugh, and it didn't seem like he was even trying to do it

Holy shit! That is spot on perfection of Marty's voice. I can't believe how close it is. If we only heard his voice I wouldn't know it wasn't Michael.

TTG wouldn't be TTG if they didn't find a superb voice actor for this game.
Just like Wallace & Gromit, where people were stumped that Peter Sallis couldn't do the voice, and it turned out just great.

Yeah, leave it to the people at TTG !

Wow! I was crossing my fingers so I wouldn't be let down, but HOLY COW! That guy was amazing! This is understandable about M. j. Fox, so I must say I am honestly blown away by how spot-on this guy is!

Wow this is amazing. Leave it to TTG to get this done right. Kudos guys. You always put out quality content. Out of all the game companies out there I'm glad you guys decided to take up this one. If any other game company got a hold of this we'd all be shaking our heads.

Though I haven't seen a Back to the Future movie yet (I know...shameful), I did know Micheal from his work on Stuart Little. So, yes, he will fit perfectly.

I haven't heard him do a line that isn't shouting, though. I wonder if he can nail those calmer lines as well. Either way, I love that Telltale Games actually goes looking for good replacement actors instead of just going to the usual pack of TV voice actors and asking who among them can do the best impression. You know, like Disney does.

Check out the linked voice reel from a couple of comments above. Sounds just like MJ Fox. Also, he does a pretty damn good Jack Sparrow at the end of the reel as well. Would've had me fooled.

@Steve the Pocket: A.J. sounds great both when speaking in a normal Marty tone and in his frantic voice. Seriously, I was personally blown away by his ability to get 80's Michael J. Fox's voice so well!
