Law & Order: Legacies - First Episodes Coming to iOS on December 22
Posted by Alan December 13, 2011

Law & Order, one of television's longest running franchises, is coming to iOS on December 22 in the form of Law & Order: Legacies! Incorporating fan-favorite characters from throughout the entire span of Law & Order, including Olivia Benson, Lennie Briscoe, Rey Curtis, and Jack McCoy, Law & Order: Legacies allows players to effectively play the legendary TV show!

Searching crime scenes for physical evidence, tracking down perps, and interviewing/interrogating suspects are just a few parts of the criminal justice system that are so important to the Law & Order series. After the New York Police Department has done their part, it's up to the New York District Attorney's office to convict the bad guys - and you'll be doing all of that in Law & Order: Legacies!

You won't have to wait long to get your hands on Law & Order: Legacies, the first two (of seven) episodes will be available on December 22! Each episode will be $2.99 each and will be "universal" - purchase it on your iPhone and you'll own the iPad version and vice-versa. You'll get Episode 1 in the App Store while the remaining episodes will be acquired via in-app purchase! Episodes 3 through 7 along with a PC/Mac version of the game will be available in 2012!

Stay tuned to the Telltale Games Blog for more Law & Order: Legacies release information! Law & Order: Legacies Episodes 1 and 2 hit the iOS on December 22!

I hope I REALLY HOPE that this has gameplay and doesn't follow the narrow gameplay, interactive move style Jurassic Park has. Which I hated. though it looks interesting, nonetheless.

And I hope it will have a better overhaul quality than Back to the Future. I'm mostly thinking about animations and the problems of mini-graphics glitches like seeing a wireframe box around a character...

But seriously, I'm kinda affraid to see TTG taking SO much licences one after the other... Like the don't have enough in their plate... I'm still waiting for an announcement about Sam & Max S4, Tales of Monkey Island S2 and Back to the Future S2...

7 episodes?!?! Gosh.
I hope they won't be 30 minutes long.

Yeah I agree with Arakara on this one you have so many great franchises allready and why you are not continuing with monkey island, bttf s2, wallace & gromit, and of course sam & max.
Remember telltale less is more I think lately you guys have been doing to much and as a result the game you are putting out have suffered.

This looks pretty bland and frankly why would I play this game when I can just watch the show ?

Awesome, thanks for making it universal. That means I'll be able to get it without deciding which device I get to play it on!

Hopefully the save games will sync over iCloud!

On twitter they've said it comes out December 22. Just hope nothing is being rushed to make the '2011' release. Glad it says PC/Mac, I'll wait for that.

Do each of the episodes stand alone as a separate story?

Episodes stand alone, but there is also a longer story arc that unfolds over the entire season, if ya like your intrigue and mystery that way...

@Ryan: Do these episodes consist of 1 case to solve per episode, multiple ones per episode, or does it vary?

I really like that they've chosen some of the best characters from the Law & Order franchise. The character animations actually look really good too. Looking forward to this.

1 case per episode, just like the show. You get to play as the cops to catch your suspect-- and then rip em apart in court, as the prosecutors. :D

@Ryan: Ok, makes sense. What about the gameplay? Is that more like Telltale's tradtional adventure game style, Sam & Max, TMI, SBCG4AP, etc.; or more of the heavy rain-eque, quick time events style?
