The Walking Dead: Episode Two Stats Revealed and an Episode Three Update

The Walking Dead: Episode Two – Starved for Help is chock-full of tough decisions for players to make, and if you've been following us on Twitter or keeping tabs on us on our Facebook page, you've probably seen some of the statistics we've been gathering from these choices and actions. Just like we did for Episode One, we've also created a video "tribute" to the decisions players like you have made in the latest episode of The Walking Dead, all so you can see where you stand amongst the masses on some of the game's dilemmas, including many bits that aren't reported at the end of the episode! Our favorite? Guess how many punches have been thrown at Andy St. John so far… Check out the video to find out!

In addition to this video, we wanted to give everyone a very important update. In July, we let everyone know that we were hard at work on Episode Three – Long Road Ahead, and our aim has been to have it ready towards the middle of August. Some of you may have thought this meant a hard date of August 15th, but we wanted to be as clear as we could to let you know the latest news on the release date. The team has finished play-testing and tuning, and we’re nearing final submission to our partners for certification on digital platforms. As soon as we hear back from our partners on when Episode Three will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, PlayStation Network, PC, and Mac, we’re going to break that news to you right here.

We thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm as we make sure that this latest episode continues the heart-wrenching experience you’ve been enjoying with action and decisions that we hope are some of the most difficult, painful, shocking and horrifying that players will have ever seen in a video game. Until then, stay tuned for up to the minute updates on when our next episode will be available, and if you’re going to PAX Prime in Seattle at the end of this month, don’t miss our special presentation of Playing Dead LIVE!, where project leads Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin, and Gary Whitta, story consultant and writer of Episode Four: Around Every Corner discuss the series and answer questions from fans like you.

	Thank you for the update guys! I know it's not really good news, but it's nice to hear something back from you guys. The main problem everyone has been having with this whole thing, and especially the season pass people, is that they're scared that you'll take the money and run. Most of us know you won't, but that doesn't stop the fear. This kind of interaction helps bring some players back that may have been cold shouldered by the previous announcements. If you're selling a in-progress product, everyone wants to hear. It's nice to know that there are people behind the corporate mask, even if the post is just a quick five-minutes to tell us how horrible bug-testing went today. Now that the problem is fixed, the healing can begin. :p

	It's interesting to see how people choose in this episode. Most everyone was totally fine saving Larry, saving David, sparing Andy and not killing Jolene....yet Danny was the one everyone felt earned being stabbed with a pitchfork! Not saying I don't blame them (I didn't choose it but it was tempting), but it is just an interesting thing to note. Also interesting to see that a lot of people couldn't justify cold murder...but had no qualms stealing supplies from someone else. I know the debate on survival and if the people are even there, but it's interesting to see how close those percentages were versus the killing choices aside from Danny.

	@zgamer I've choosen to take the food - it's take it or die of hunger man.Not really a choice.And I guess that most of the people didn't kill Andy because Clementine saw how Lee killed the other brother...No more killing when kids see :-D

	i never played this particular genre(of games) but now honestly......im addicted.... i keep playing the two episodes, making different decisions every time so i can see the outcome and it never gets boring....Congrats Telltale for this masterpiece!!!! I cant wait for episode 3......

	@godzi733 Well yes, but what if incidentally happened upon something down the road? Then they just stole someone's supplies and hurt someone else in their chances of surviving. It's not really as easy as you think. That's kind of the fun of the choices though. It's interesting to see where the path leads them. Who knows, maybe it was just an empty car. I'm trying to do a moral Lee with this playthrough to see how it affects the game. Plus, seeing Clementine hold Lee's hand when I refused to loot was kind of a touching gratification :) Ha. So killing is fine as long as no one under a certain age is watching? :) Hehe! I dunno. I just had a feeling something would happen if I killed Danny so I played it safe. Besides, he's already stuck in a freaking bear trap. If he didn't get eaten by the walkers, he would probably bleed to death :) Oh man though, this game is so awesome. Look forward to the next episode. I will try not to set my expectations too high though. Not because I don't want it to be awesome, but I don't want any chance to potentially set myself up for disappointment (like with Mass Effect 3's ending...)

	SoundGuy it's probably your PC the game runs fine. I'm so freaken excited about the next episode coming out. Seems I've made all the popular decisions as well. Honestly I thought more people would have taken the food though. Thanks for the update Telltale and great work! (Now just to put that certification through for Australia and New Zealand XBL and PSN)

	my first play through of Ep 2 I didnt kill or steal or be nasty... then as the achievements hadnt worked I went through it again in a much more nasty way. KILL KILL STEAL!!

	Wow i really cant wait for the game i was wondering if someone could help me. I replayed the episodes mostly by chapter like i saw my stats so i tried to save larry and kenny gets mad at me then i left the st johns to die and i stole the food if that car was abandoned i think i would have atleast took the food with me. But my real question is if i rewind some events in episode one like save doug or tell the truth to hershal will i have to replay episode 2 from the start of it

	can't wait for ep. 3, personally i made 3 playthroughs, one which was where i was very caring and very moral, and tried to do things best for the group, no stealing or killing. The second was when i decided to be a toal A-hole. KILL AND STEAL! And be a D!ck. And on my 3rd, i thought of what i would honestly say/do in that situation. Like I killed Danny. First because he murdered that woman and was going CRAZY! Also, he tried to kill me twice and he was a sick-o. Like Lee said, he though it was a game. But Andy on the other hand...he just seemed nicer and more sane (i know he shot Kenny and was holding a gun to Duck's head.) But the other thing is, it just didn't seem worth it, it wouldn't help you at all, that i could think of. He was also already beaten pretty bad, Clementine already saw me kill Danny and help kill Larry (after having to be convinced and see how much of a D!ck Larry was.) And i knew the walkers were gonna get him, there was no point in murdering him. Also, i would steal from the car, Clementine doesn't really understand it, that this would help them survive, and maybe people got chased out or died? Can't see that many supplies and just leave it there, but in my main playthrough i stood by here. Can't wait for next episode. Very excited. By a /quote next coming weeks! I hope it means 1-3 :)

	Yeah this waiting game is sick, im not buying the next season cause we will all have to wait this long to use our purchased merchandise.. they say on this "world wide web" thingy here that the 3rd ep is due in mid august and everytime these people have had a soft date posted that it turns out that weeks and weeks will go by before it actually materializes , this time seems like it wont be much different as seen in the very last sentence of this so-called "up-date"

	I think after all 5 episodes are done, they should think about maybe teaming up with Rockstar or even Havok. I think a GTA or RE style game for The Walking Dead would be cool to play, either with the charactors from the show or even a fresh new cast of survivors. PS3 Gamer Tag: Vlad_Dracul_315

	Oh man... I did kill both the brothers. I mean... I was one of the 20% that did kill Andy. Oh... and I kind of paniced and didn't get down in time to stop Clementine from eating human meat... Well, at least she didn't swallow, but spit it out, so it should count for something, right? I didn't kill Larry. One of the reason why I did kill all those people was quite simple. I kill walkers without hesitating. Those people ate human meat. Not of the instinct that the walkers have, but out of choice. They had choosen to become walkers. Talking walkers. And that's worse because if I didn't kill them, then they could maybe find other victims later on. I had to stop them from hurting someone else.

	WOW! talk about passing the buck, so now it's Sony and Microsoft fault for telltale problem. The only reason this games had any success was do to fact that the comic book and T.V series is so successful. They shouldn't be call telltale, they should changing their name to coat-tales. 	@Sean Most companies, when announcing a release date, allow time for Microsoft/Sony etc to certify the games and then postpone releasing the game until the date hits, that's why most companies are able to have fluent releases right down to the minute.

	Much better Telltale!!! Thanks for the update, a concrete date would have been nice, but at least there is an update. I'm glad you have learnt from the episode 2 fiasco, a little communication goes a long way. Roll on episode 3, I seem to be in the minority that didn't steal the food, I bet that will come back to haunt me. Great game!

	I chose not to take the stuff from the car. What it comes down to is a question of priority-- which is more important: survival, or humanity? If we steal and kill without hesitation, are we not just animals? How then are we any different from the walkers? And say she survives because of the food you stole; what does she become? Why has she survived? Just to keep taking up oxygen without a purpose? If society has any chance of beginning anew, it is important to preserve the qualities that separate man from beast. At that moment, Clementine (and I guess Lily) were the smartest people in the group, because they were the only ones who were still human, and not just vultures. Even if Lee agrees with Clementine, in the end he is just agreeing with the conclusion she came up with on her own. I felt a tinge of (sadly) virtual pride at that moment. If it was real, it would be Clementine that would grow up to commence the makings of a new society. They grow up so fast.

	I think this week Friday would be good, if not that, then early next week like Monday or something. Mid August...I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being at the end of August, seeing how things went the last time. Either way I'll be looking forward to playing. It's just that after the long wait for episode 2, I don't expect 3 to be out anytime soon. I'll be glad if it is, that would be great, but I won't be crossing my fingers. I'm a bit annoyed, because I was under the impression of a monthly release, but it is what it is now. I paid for the season pass so I'll get the episodes whenever they decide to release them. I'm very excited for episode 3!

	I'd like to see more "Playing Dead" episodes (Last one on their Youtube channel I see is from April?) or at least a blog to keep the fans updated on the progress of things. Engage the fans a bit more by providing "extras". Interviews, Q&A sessions, etc. I could understand, being a smaller company not having the time or funds to do these things. I'm just saying it would probably help ease the tension a little bit. Aside from that, I don't have a problem waiting a little longer for the Episode. I'd rather have the game work properly and not have zombies with unintentional super powers, flying around and walking through walls, etc. lol

	Still no release date? That means a week, at least, and that's assuming the release date came out tomorrow. You know what would be awesome? If you presume mid-August, it should come out early, just as likely as it should be late. If you say mid-August, and instead it comes out in early September, you lose credibility. And fans.

	BoofreakinHoo, why all of the whining? The game will be released when it is done. To take your mind off of the wait try going outside and getting some sun. It is summer enjoy it. Just be sure to take your sun screen (spf 150). Most of you are really pasty white from being inside all summer playing video games.

	@ mike behind a generator is a toolbox go there and take multitool the turn off the generator and open generator with multitool then take a belt from generator then andy will come out and try to fix it and you will have a time to go in the barn and open the door...

	Guys, honestly, I understand that it has been about 4 months and they released 2 episodes, but give them a break. How about you try making a game where it is'nt a "linear game" and there are a bunch of different choices they have to imply in the game...also, they are finished with th making of episode 3, but they are just waiting for it to be certifiied. So stop your whining, at least they gave us a time.

	I hate people that moan about people complaining about the release date, STFU you boot lickers. People have every right in the world to complain, this was sold as a "monthy" episodic game and many people, including myself, bought the entire game. TTG's removed the "monthy episode" catch line after failing to deliver 3 times now. The game--according to the original deal with their customers--should be about to release episode 5. Also, why not simply state that episode 3 will be ready in September? "ready by mid-August" means ready to launch to a lot of people, not ready to be sent out for various reasons, returned, tweaked, tested then released weeks after the "ready buy" BS. A lot of you guys need to quit defending TTG's ineptitude and pull your head out of their ass, you will gain nothing with a walk all over me attitude. Yes the game is great so far and I really hope there are more seasons of TWD, but TTG's needs to live up to their word and not defend their failures with semantics.

Its better if they take there time and make a decent game instead of rushing it and releasing a buggy and unplayable version. Just because they're late doesn't mean your never going to get them. Also next time don't resort to immature name calling just because your mad and impatient about a good game that takes time to finish.

	dogfriedrice promises are meant to be broken. I'd rather TTG spend more time making a quality product than rushing half-assed episodes to meet release dates, anyway. And like I said, there are hundreds of things people could be doing while waiting for another episode to come out. People have nothing to gain from whining about a game episode not releasing yet. 	I really hope the majority of people's unwillingness to make the hard but correct choices doesn't affect how future episodes are structured. Telltale is really knocking this game out of the park. Only 40% of the game has been released and it's still one of the best games I've played this year.

	Had to post this comment. I never complain about a game till now. People that defend these people are crazy. Or they work there. First, they promised a monthly release, so I im thinking 35 weeks. So wrong. That was april. So you do the math. Then before I can get 3 I see its free for playstation plus. And it only gives you a little over 2 hours of playtimTrue you can replay it and change your what you do. But how many times are you going to do that? I even played it saying nothing. So we are upset. At least give us some kind of free play. Would love to play with other people. The game is really a let down. And now its free to some. I play DC universe for free and its online with others. And I payed for this? Prepaid really. guestion.... Would we buy it again? Or anything like it from them? even the update is old. Wow. 	I do totally agree about the complaining going around about Telltale pretty much just lying about episode release dates, and yes, players who bought the season pass like myself, have every right to be upset because TWD was stated to be a monthly released episodic game, and then just "oops, we lied, every two months now. " That's called false advertising. Somebody here said it best: Quit defending Telltale's incompetence. Quit kissing their ass. They publicised a product, gave deadlines for it, and missed their deadlines by a month...twice now. That's not okay, because players have paid for the product, and are not being delivered said product on time as Telltale said they would. So maybe the rest of you who are telling everyone else to stop whining should go gargle because I'm not okay with being lied to, especially if I paid for something and got the opposite. I love the game so far...but Telltale needs to keep their word on deadlines because if they plan to come out with another season after this one, and they don't meet their sworn deadline again, they will see a drop in sales and player trust.

	I agree with dirtyred. Something new every month for five months sounded like a good deal in april. But now its august. The 20th no less. and I guess I will get the same 2 1/2 or so hours of playtime. Sorry 8 hours if I change my choices. The fact that its free now with playstation plus really upset me. In no way is that fair. They could have waited till after all episodes had been played by paying people. Some kind of online play with others would have been nice. But I dont know if these guys could handle it. Would I buy a game like this made by these guys? No

	As many before complained, episodes are far too short as every new episode is scheduled for next month. Episodes as they are, could-should be out every week and there could be more episodes. Can`t say it aint fun playing but as said, it`s all to short. Each episode actually has very short story and waiting one +month for the next one is kinda frustrating and fun degrading. After all it is all about growing business and making money. More episodes (weekly) more $$ and we are all happy.

When you put out a date of "mid-August", people expect to see the game in mid-August, while you mean released to the slightly richer bungling fools at Microsoft and Sony for certification. I don't even see why it should take you this long! Episode 2 was absolutely horrible on the Xbox 360 version! The audio was off the whole damn episode! You're releasing buggy content anyway, just release the damn episodes already and don't think you can try to stretch this thing out to overlap with Season 3 because if that does happen I will never buy one of your products again! 	I checked on the steam feed to see if there was any news. I noticed it was filled with Kotaku, followed that trashy website here to find that there is still no word of Ep3. Your stuff is great but you need to keep your community up to date. It's late August, not mid August. Besides that, the game is cheaper everywhere else but the PC (which flies in the face of logic).

	I should have just waited until all the episodes were released to get and play this game. This waiting shit is incredibly irritating, especially when told it would be released by mid-august. If I bought any other kind of product online and they gave me a date it would be shipped to me, and it didn't come until a month later, you can be sure I'd be getting my money back. 	I wouldn't say they are being deceptive, they were just a bit too ambitious by initially promising monthly episodes. I think if they drag this series into 2013 they are taking the piss, but there's three months to go still. I'd to know some of the reasons why these delays keep occurring. I can appreciate getting approval from Sony, MS etc. probably isn't easy, but this is their third attempt and they're not getting any quicker or better at it. Perhaps they are slow learners, or the game is buggier than they're letting on? I'd prefer to receive a bug-free game late than a buggy game on time. A little bit of clarity from Telltale would go a long way.

	If this series drags into 2013 I am never buying a season pass again, from Telltale or anyone else. This has been a frustrating experience, I bought this on the week it released expecting episodes on a monthly basis. Telltale realised early on that this was not going to work but instead of giving the option for people who had bought a pass to get a refund, they basically said 'fuck you, deal with it.' The delays are likely to continue, and if this two monthly release schedule keeps up it will be 2013 before anybody finishes it. I have never bought a game from Telltale before, so I do not know if this is typical of them. My advice if you are reading this and haven't bought the game is to wait until all of the episodes have been released before playing it. Also if you play it on the PC/Mac there are a few sites that are offering 100% discounts, if you know where to look...

	The release is now pointless the majority of us probably have forgot our story lines. Even if you do replays an developed a new story. Or keep, the story at hand that you have. Doesn't help with these release dates. We all can sit here an place blame on Telltale. Though I, think they weren't expecting a huge audience return from this game. Instead they have a big fan community of this series now. An they're overwhelmed an trying to deliver a episode and they aren't. Lastly wouldn, you have all 5 episodes done before releasing the game. Like I said they weren't expecting this big audience. An now paying for it , trying to develop new episodes to meet the expectation of gamers and the community of this series. I understand you have to dot your i's and cross your t's. Once all said and done for the actual release of episode 3. The gamer - consumer will not be as interested - hooked as before due to the delay. Especially if episode 3 is not a big turn out meaning" video game control grabber - seat grabber" due to the this delay. If Telltale doesn't deliver, they can hang it up. Cause will say "that's the delay we waited for?"
