The Walking Dead: Episode Three - New Trailer and Screenshots [UPDATED: Out Now on TTG Store, Steam, Origin]

UPDATE 8/29/2012: Episode Three - Long Road Ahead is now available via the TTG Store, Steam, Origin, and our other digital partners. A sincere thanks for your patience.

For everyone anxiously awaiting the release of The Walking Dead: Episode Three for PC and Mac, we will be live by 6 pm PST today through the TTG Store, Steam, Origin, and our other digital partners. We appreciate your support of The Walking Dead and we are excited for you to experience the episode. 

IT'S OFFICIAL! The Walking Dead: Episode Three – Long Road Ahead will release Tuesday, August 28th on PlayStation Network in North America for $4.99 or as part of the Season Pass option for $19.99 which includes all five episodes. The episode will also be available on Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday, August 29th for 400 MS Points as DLC within the original The Walking Dead XBLA release, and also on PC/MAC as part of a Season Pass on the Telltale Games Store, as well as through our partners on Steam, Origin, Amazon PC Downloads, GameStop, and GameFly. European and international release dates for PlayStation Network are still to be confirmed. The title is in submission with our international partners at SCEE, and as soon as Telltale Games receives a release confirmation, a date will be announced. 

The Walking Dead: Episode Two – Starved for Help will also be available this Wednesday, August 29th on iOS as an in-app purchase within 'Walking Dead: The Game' for $4.99 or as part of the Multi-Pack bundle that includes episodes 2-5 for 14.99, a 25% savings versus buying all the episodes individually.

The Walking Dead: Episode Three - Long Road Ahead will release imminently; keep your eyes peeled for an announcement - we're just waiting on one piece of feedback before we can let you know what's up and we truly appreciate your excitement! In the meantime, we've released a brand new trailer for Episode Three, giving you an insight into what to expect in what is probably the most emotionally harrowing episode to date.

The stakes get even higher in episode three as Lee, Clem, and the group are forced to move on from the motel. The fallout from treachery within the group will lead to some shocking moments, and - depending on the choices you make - one of the hardest things that Lee has ever had to do.

So when this doesn't release sometime real soon, will TTG then tell us that they just meant that they would know more about the release "imminently", not that the game would release imminently.

To me, imminently means like in moments.

Ok, now we have some actual news :) I am totally cool with that now. And man, it actually looks like the graphics are improving a bit or maybe I am just over hyping it because it has been so long.

Still, it is good to finally get an update. I know I was uppity like everyone else, but when the news actually comes out it deflates me pretty quickly.

Having said that, Telltale I really hope you can at least keep us in the loop better for the next episode. You don't need to update every day or anything, but we would really appreciate a more solid release date and if there are delays at least letting us know why and a good idea of how long to wait for.

I do look forward to the release! :)

I know everyone below me are going to be like "OMFG dwhen is TellTale gonna release this Fucking awesome game!", they communicated with us, and that is all what matters to me, TellTale, your so called "fans" AKA "whiny bitches" are really only asking for you to communicate the status of the episode and a round-about date of when it will be released, and not to leave your "fans in the dark", thats all they want, they don't care if it is late, as long as you tell the WHY or give them and idea why it is late. :)

@JJmaster420, calm down. All sfs99 said was that this new trailer didn't look anythin' like the one that is at the end of Episode 2, which is kind of true, because almost nothing in this trailer was in the other one.

Back on topic, This looks awesome. The only thing that makes my stomach droop is Clem holding a gun. Is she shooting a zombie, human, what?

@XxRoCkBaNdMaNxX Well Telltale has done this with most of their properties. They have teaser trailers but they ultimately make changes to how certain events play out in the actual episode. It's just part of their development process. Since they continue to work on the episodes in between releases, they decide to add or drop things depending on feedback and such.

What's that? Cant you be a bit more serious with clients? I mean... MONTHLY means once a month. For the second episode we had to wait 2 months ( a bit more than 2), for the third it was claimed to be out in mid august. No. It is not. After almost 4 months we still have to play episode 3. According to your first timetable we should have been playing episode 5 already.

Do you have delays? It happend... But... All the times? And why not a single word about them? The game is pretty good but the way you are interracting with clients is not good. Why? Are we so useless for you? Are we just numbers? I hope, for telltale too, that for the last two episodes we can get more informations or a respected schedule or I doubt I wont buy any more ttg game. Please respect us.

TWD game has been the first purchase I have made from telltale and I PROMISE it will be the last. I didn't want to believe all the negative hype I read and heard about your company when the game was first announced...in fact I couldn't believe it because I wanted so badly to play TWD game. Yet here we are months later being led on by a bunch of incompetent little kids. One moment they apologize for the lack of communication with "their fans" on game info and release dates and they plan on trying harder to keep us posted and the next moment we are right back where we started. Waiting for an update and receiving nothing but teasers and vague hints at a timeline. In fact I have seen better business mgmt and ethics from children selling lemonade on the street corner. Well telltale here is a little teaser/update for you, 90% of us are Far from telltale fans...instead we are The Walking Dead fans, that unfortunately have been unfairly subjected to your scatterbrained inability to operate your company in an appropriate and timely manner. This company is a joke and it is a shame you were ever given the outstanding opportunity to make a game such as this one. I can only imagine all the other companies that could have taken this chance and made it amazing instead of being a complete and utter disappointment, such as you have done.

I want to play episode 3 more than any other game besides gta 5 but most you guys kill it. you complain when the release is not when they say get happy when its finally out then complain 2 hours when your done and want the next episode funny stuff. dont get me wrong shoot i paid for the almost everything pack so i do feel that ttg should come correct with the episodes but im not doing a bunch of complain posts we all will get every episode eventually just saying

Great, it's out 2 weeks late and those with PS3s living in Europe still haven't got a clue when they're going to get it. Yeah, okay well done for eventually getting it out, at least some people can play it but why should we be treated any different to users in America? We pay the exact same amount for the same product yet we're treated differently. It's ridiculous, you are a terrible business and you don't deserve success for what you do. Even if it is only one day later, I have to ask why PSN (and yes, i have a ps3 before fanboys start whining but I prefer pc) is releasing before PC especially? They already have the first 2 episodes for free on PS+, so at a seperate price they can get the last 3 for 15$. PC, we still have to pay 25$. Not just that, it was your first party partners Sony and MS that we were waiting on for this release, yes? AFAIK for PC releases there is nothing to be confirmed, so our friends over at Valve can immediately put out almost anything for sale on Steam. Why couldn't they all be today then? Why are PSN users, two of the parties we had to wait on, getting it before us?

Wow, this is actually one of the few first times i've seen a game release on PS3/PSN before Xbox, thanks Telltale you've made a good moral decision XD(small joke im not a fanboy lmao). I don't know why some people compliane some times as a PSN user I've had to wait a year just to get dlc and other things (because of Xbox timed exclusives), so this feels nice to be first for a change. I'm also a PC user, I love steam so it is a bit curious, but who cares at least its comeing!! Thanks Telltale! you guys and girls are really great!

Only thing is I agree with from other people is, I would like more comunication on the episodes with the fans, you don't have to tell us every thing.

I hope to see some more serious toned games in the future like the walking dead, maybe some murder mystery or some thing, or some more survival horror(which I love!).

But I have come to understand that TWD will be released BI-MONTHLY, and not monthly. So I will stop bitching and "whining" and accept that Episode 4 will be released sometime in late October, 2 months from now.

Just finished Episode 3. AWESOME is all I can say. It was just awesome.

As for episode 4, I know it won't be released until late October, so I'll just keep that in mind.
Great job Telltale. I really enjoyed episode 3.

I'm having a problem as well. There's a pretty major glitch in the game that makes it unplayable. I have to say, this is the best, most intense one so far, even considering the horrible glitch.

lol, so while us PC users aka the ones that had to wait on SONY and MICROSOFT, they get the game first? It was ridiculous that first we had to wait a day after PS, and now even XB players have it before us. I can only feel for the Euro PC gamers, fuck the PS3 ones seeing as how they will most likely have it before the PC users at the rate this is going.

Only thing done right is doing a steam sale on it dropping the season pass to 15$, just like the PSN with its "free" first 2 eps. It should stay at 15$ if you are keeping those for free on PSN. Not just for PC, on xbox too.

I'm a PS3 user although starting to wish I had used steam instead. Can't really start now as I'd have to start all over again to set my choices. HURRY UP AND GET IT ON PSN EUROPE!!! There is no way it should take any longer than USA. This happened last episode so you think they'd have learned their lessons. Obviously not.

A gamer's world is a world of midnight releases. So yes, it is a bit of a fair expectation that it would be released at midnight.

Personally, I'm not angry that it's not there yet, I'm more upset Steam put up the achievements before the episode is playable.
PS3 yesterday, if I recall, came out in the afternoon in the US. I'm kind of expecting the same for the Steam release.

Dont let the negative discourage you, you have a lot of loyal fans who are truly enjoying the game and the story. @suzie TTG have given the game to Sony for release on PSN. It's not their fault the EU part of the company hasn't told TTG when it's going to be released, or even got it ready for release. by the time the final episode has come out ill have completely forgotten about this game shame

don't no why you released it the way you have done but its pretty poor for something that takes you so long to release it should be perfect but its so glitchy the sound drops out and i cant even start in steam i have to go right into the steam apps and run as administrator which i only tried as a last resort and it worked

Dear Telltale Games,

You need to thank your lucky stars for this game because I had just about enough of your terrible promises on the delivery of each episode, specifically on Steam (PC). I'm very disappointed by this and will not care to buy future games from you, even if you decide to make another season of the fantastic "The Walking Dead". Once I played all 5 episodes of this, I will fucking cry cause it's probably a sad ending then walk away.

I can only assume steam is the problem if origin received its ep. 3 update and iOS recieved it's ep. 2 update, that means TTG pushed the updates out. It's up to the receiving company to setup their servers to serve them. And yes, origin is owned by EA. I do hope steam hurries up and release this soon though.

Now I am not mad because I already played episode 3 on Ps3 on tuesday but its really fucked up to spoil it for the people that are still waiting. Ah ah, I knew it. I knew that I would a lot of angry comments in the announcement because of the late release :-) No need to be mad or rude because of such a delay. I'm sure your backlog contains some games to occupy you during the wait.

I started the game in the evening (GMT+1) and saw that the episode was not there so I exited and continued my Gemini Rue game. I'll play the episode later.

That's all very nice, the story is very well written, BUT

Maybe the developers can, just this once, within this month of the episodes release, quickly pop over to the support forum and acknowledge the savegame issue that all the users are reporting, thread after thread?

I mean, there's the concept of busy, and there's the concept of disrespectful. Why even toss out a support forum on the web, if nobody every checks up on that until after weeks of complaints?

I just uploaded episode 3 and literally all my saves are gone. My options settings weren't saved either. I got the season pass and had 3 game saves going through the first two episodes and now they are gone. There is nothing I did myself that would have caused this to happen. I spent hard earned money on this waiting anxiously for two months to play the new episode, I get off work today excited and it's all gone. This is unacceptable and I will be contacting steam as well. I demand a full refund or preferably my games returned to me, I don't know how long I will be feeling that way though. You guys put out a great product but honestly this is the worst experience I've ever had with a game and game company with a close second to Blizzard and Diablo 3. I regret ever giving you guys money and you deserve more than just a harsh letter. I don't even know what to do with myself right now I'm so upset I can't even believe this right now.

Just wanted to say that I continue to be impressed with this series. Near the end of episode three I was so horrified by something I did I quickly alt-tabbed out of the game and tried to close it before it saved... lol...it didn't work. Regarding release dates: Just tell it like it is, and if you release before your estimate that's great, otherwise you won't have to deal with repeatedly disappointing people. Don't rush the episodes, and for season two you guys should be more realistic in your estimated release dates. Keep up the great work, can't wait for episode 4 & 5 :)

The most tragic thing is, that a lot of people complains about Telltale and if I understand entire situation well, then we all should complain about how Sony manages its Playstation Network - after all Telltale has delivered finished game to all channels of digital game distribution and on some reason it could be released on Playstation Network US but it could not be made available on Playstation Network accessible by the rest of the world - in my opinion we should blame Sony for that, not Telltale.

But the other thing which Telltale actually could have done better is communication with us - simple news like:
"We can't give you date of release of Episode 3 yet, because we are still waiting for response from our partner who is reponsible for making it available on Playstation Network."
would make a lot of people calmer.

Then I came back on here hoping for some good news regarding a release date. This telltale death chap seems a bit loopy, but I can get where he's coming from. Why should we get treated any different just because we live in the UK? It's a load of bull. I have a life, I play professional football. But when I come back and want to chill, I get left with disappointment because this joke of a company can't sort their act out. It actually was hard for me to make some of the decisions and i got pretty choked up on some parts and felt like i was part of the game..i love when gamers can get an experience like that, makes the game that much better. There is a possibility that the game may be made available sooner however, we will not be reimbursing any PlayStation customers. We as a company have delivered the episode to over 80% of our customers so therefore do not feel that it is a pressing issue. We remind PlayStation owners in Europe that they need to be patient and that you will get the game when it is ready.

I'm sorry to say but the Walking Dead Episode 3 - Long Road Ahead will not be released to European Ps3 users as we cannot be bothered to get off our lazy asses and give you the episode. We would much rather prefer that the US members tell you what happened because we are too lazy.

Hi Europe, sorry for the delay. It's just that we're a bunch of incompetent bellends and can't be fucked to deal with this problem even though it's extremely easy to resolve. I'm 38 and live at home with my parents. The reason I never give updates is because I'm too busy masturbating over elf porn, whilst my mum watches/helps out. I brought season pass. But I lost my enthusiasm about the game so much that won't play it when it comes out for Europe, I'm protesting it. TellTale games can be happy about it since they got my money for all of the episodes but I'm not playing their game anymore.

Yeah, they're being sued. Read it today and it's definitely happening. Apparently it started by a family complaining to their bank that their kids hadn't received the episode they paid for when everyone else had, so they were hoping the bank would follow it up and get their money back. Then an ethics group got involved because it's seen as discriminatory that only Europe had been left out and that Telltale favours gamers from USA. As well as that, when they sold the full walking dead package the conditions were for £18.99 or whatever it was, you will receive a monthly episode. That's a contract. They haven't fulfilled that condition so the contract is void, therefore everyone, not just customers in Europe is entitled to receive ALL of their money back.Then it turned out that this has been happening with Telltale for ages so it's not just a one off thing and now it's been processed and they are being taken to court sometime later this year. They carried on saying how much they could end up taking off Telltale and if it was successful and Telltale weren't able to settle, they'd lose absolutely everything and their CEO could even face prison for fraud.

Personally, I couldn't be happier. Yeah, okay the game is really good. But it's overshadowed by how badly Telltale is run. They lie and take people's money without delivering what they promise. I really hope Telltale go bankrupt, it will come at the price of a potential season 2 but in my eyes, it's well worth it to see such a horrible company get what it deserves.

Guys im sorry to have to say this but yeah the game is actually fucken offered for free... u can get it pirated!! i cant belive i payed for this crap.. i usually dont complain but all this and we could have gotten it earlier that this for free!!! well even if the company doesnt get sued NEXT TIME I know better!! I am a PS3 european user, and I understand the fact that the game has been delayed for us. I don't know the reason why, but the one thing I can't understand is why o why nobody from TellTale has come on here, or their forums or just a statement on their website explaining that the game has been delayed and they are trying very hard to resolve the issue. This sole reason is the reason that I will not be investing in anymore TellTale games, and trust me I love their games. TellTale, if we have been decent enough to trust you with our money up front, the least you could do is not ignore us. I really don't understand the issue with bashing a few keys out on a keyboard, even if it's to say we are still here, you will be getting the game. You have taken some strong abuse on here and don't seem bothered about the fact that your european ps3 customer base is seriously pissed off about it.

I am a PS3 user in Europe but couldn't be bothered to wait until they feel like releasing it. So played it at a mates house who has it on steam. To be honest, it wasn't even that good. The fact that no matter what choices you make the same shit happens is just boring now. So considering telltales customer service is shit you'd expect the game to be perfect for people to bother using them, unfortunately that isn't the case. It's gone downhill since the first episode. The characters are so unrealistic and the scenarios are horrendous, I mean. When Shawn was under the tractor tyre, it would have been so easy to get him out but the gameplay is shocking and he ended up dying. This continues throughout the whole of episode 2 and 3. Big let down. Never buying from Telltale again.

Activision will have released their walking dead game by the time we get to see the end of this. At least they'll do it properly. This is the first game i've ever bought from telltale and needless to say its going to be the last. Legend that you are Robert Kirkman, Telltale was a bad choice.

i agree with Freddie.....in the beggining of the game they said the game adopts to choices you make but it is always the same you try to save shawn he dies and hershel kicks you off the farm,you save doug he dies,you save carley she dies almost the same way as doug,and whatever you do lily will escape,when you pick a choice they just change some lines but the resault is the same

I totally agree with Freddie. The game is massively overrated, whatever choices you make the end result is exactly the same, the gameplay is glitchy as fuck. The company itself is a load of shit, my dog could run it better, I mean their customer service is non existent. I will never purchase a Telltale game again, from what I have heard and read, Jurassic Park was a load of crap and Back to the Future wasn't much better. I hope that law suit does end the company because they really don't deserve to make money.

The ending to episode 3 is diabolical as well, it's almost as if Telltale think to themselves, 'Ah, what can we do now to progress the game... Oh I know, lets bring in something completely irrelevant to the story and make it as unrealistic as possible." Plus Kenny is a total douche, he should just fuck off, the worst character I have ever seen. He is so unpredictable and does fucking stupid things that no one would do. Now that Telltale have killed everyone off, leaving all the shit characters (with the exception of Lee and Clementine) why the fuck would anyone want to play it? So we can meet new people that we actually like only for them to be killed off in a ridiculous way. Telltale honestly, the game is shit. Daylight robbery.

You know, everyone keeps going on about how your decisions don't matter...it's true that looking at the big picture, you can't really change the outcome, but what we are actually doing when we make decisions is changing the way the characters communicate with us, and the way the story goes to get to its destination.

For example, no matter what you decide in episode 1, Duck will be saved and Shawn will get killed. There is no stopping that, however, what you decided to do determines the way Kenny talks to you. Another thing is, no matter what you decide in episode 3, Lily will leave the group. It is kinda like fate. The destination is a group without her, and you can decide how to reach that destination, either by leaving her on the side of the road or by allowing her to get back into the RV, only to have her take it and leave that way.

I guess you have to look at it from the point of view that everything in life happens for a reason and, like some time travel stories, no matter what you do, the end result will always be the same, you just get there at a different way. I have accepted from the start that this game would be like that and have enjoyed playing the episodes several times to get different views on a story that does have a path to follow, just giving you different ways to follow it.

Secondly, if it did happen, the fact that they are angry at the set out of a game would definitely not have an impact on whether or not they survive.
