Beatles Rock Band

I finally played it yesterday, and I have to say that the opening cinematic (and 'cinematic' is the right word) was so beautiful it gave me chills. Most of it was animated by the guy who animates the Gorillaz video, and the surreal parts are part Salvador Dali and part Dr. Seuss with a little Alice in Wonderland thrown in. It's too bad some of their most famous songs aren't available yet - no 'Yesterday', no 'Penny Lane', and no 'Eleanor Rigby'?

  • It's a fun game.

Yesterday and Eleanor Rigby lack drums, so they wouldn't really be acceptable on the disc. They'll probably pop up as DLC at some point.

  • I hate the Beatles and I hate plastic guitars even more.

Then boy, have we got just the game for you!

  • I'm dying to get this, but broke ShaggE is broke. I'll likely just get the disc. I love the Beatles, but it'll be just as fun playing with the normal instruments.

*waits for the inevitable "omg u guiz pleh a reel intrumint! stohp liekin tings i doan liek!" post*

You'll enjoy this article. I personally love The Beatles, but I can't stand Beatles bores who just go on and on and on

Wow. I don't know what's worse, the obvious "Look at me!"-ness of that guy, or the overly-defensive fans calling for his head.

As I said before, I love the Beatles. I'm listening to them right now, in fact. But to act like they are messiahs that can never be laughed about is ridiculous. I got a solid chuckle at the "Silly Love Songs" joke in the article, and lightning didn't crash upon my skull.

While I disagree vehemently with him saying that songs such as "Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da" and "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" are crimes against music, his saying so hasn't detracted the value of their music one iota.

As for the site itself: It's hilarious. But why does it exist, exactly? I hate The Rolling Stones, but you don't see me making a site called "paintitwack.lol", or doing interviews for the BBC.

So, on one side you have an attention-starved troll who just happens to be witty, and on the other, you have a bunch of self-righteous fans who take the Beatles far more seriously than the Beatles ever took themselves.

    tl;dr: Faith in humanity -1.

  • Love the game.

Always been a casual fan of the Beatles, mostly from listening to the Sgt Peppers album on loop as a kid, but this game's has got me into them all over again.

edit: oh i guess it's my first plastic guitar game too.

It's awesome. I am going to go play it a lot when I get home :)

I didn't think I'd ever get into the plastic instrument games, but I was defeated by The Beatles.

  • I'm the only person I know who plays guitar who doesn't hate the plastic guitars. Everyone looks at it like its sacrilege to imitate the almighty six stringed beast, tis just a bit of fun

I just don't think it's fun to jab buttons according to when they float by on the screen, it's boring and repetitive to me.
