Fair warning, these spoiler tags are for chapter 5. I was just browsing through the new issue of Nintendo Power, which has an interview with Mike Stemmle in it. "Elaine and Morgan will get really nice moments in the fifth episode that will hopefully mirror each other well." "In episode five you'll see how Guybrush climbs his way out of the worst situation he has ever been in and manages to shatter a cycle that he has been on since the very first Monkey Island game."
Now, I just read this issue a few days ago, and had a post on mixnmojo.com's front page not caused me to look back at it, I would've forgotten all about it, because really these aren't spoilers without the context of the ending of chapter 4. Having finished chapter 4 and gone back to re-read it, the spoilers are quite a bit bigger. Ordinarily he wouldn't have given anything away with this, but with the perfect timing of this issue coinciding with the release of chapter 4, it sort of takes a bit of the edge off the ending. Only a little bit, though. It was a pretty intense ending, after all.
I'm not trying to dig on Stemmle in any way, and I'm absolutely not saying interviews are a bad thing. I'm just saying that the timing is a bit unfortunate. Well, not that unfortunate to me, but I'm the sort of person who doesn't mind spoilers in the slightest.
Besides, it's nothing we didn't all see coming anyway, right?
