The master plan/real villain clues

Hey. I've noticed some people sharing my confusion about who is behind what and why. This is the clues thread. I just replayed some bits of Rise of the Pirate God, and here are some things I noticed:

- Elaine clearly says she "let" LeChuck capture her at the beginning of the game, because of the Voodoo Lady.

- Elaine had a pretty good idea that the Voodoo Lady was using Guybrush for her own ends. The Voodoo Lady is the one tying Guybrush with LeChuck.

- Some other things I suddenly forgot, because my memory is like a dried trout's.

Any other thing you noticed? I'm interested in piecing all the puzzles.

Elaine seems to know a lot about the Voodoo Lady and does not trust her, for a reason. Also, we're supposed to believe she hatched that ring plan at the beginning of the second chapter. That would mean her knowing Guybrush's going to die. These two just don't add up. Especially if she would have to trust the Voodoo Lady to bind Guybrush to his body.

  • To paraphrase one RemiO, in Monkey 2, the Voodoo Lady is both helping out Guybrush and sending cases of voodoo supplies to LeChuck. This was dropped in CMI and EMI, but came back in Chapter Four of TMI.

Considering that Ron Gilbert's influence was mostly around this chapter...Hmm.
