  • Why are you skipping to EfMI?

Spoiler alert: It's the worst one of the series.

1.I know it is one of the worst but I still want to play it.
2.My comp is not one of the best when it comes to games(although it is still 1000000000 times better than my old comp) so I try to play all of the console games in the series. That is why I am urgently waiting for tales part 5 to come out. If Lechucks Revenge and Curse were to be rereleased on a console, I would have bought them and played them instead.

Just out of curiosity, are you planning on playing this on a PS2?

And I wouldn't worry too much about needing to know anything about the story of Curse And LeChuck's revenge. Escape gives a brief summary of everything you need to know at the beginning of the games. Of course, you will miss some references and inside jokes, but nothing you need to know to complete the game.

Revenge is 19 years old. Curse is 13 years old. That means Moore's law says average computer power has increased by a factor 225 since Curse came out and a factor 2700 since Revenge came out. What is considered a really shitty computer nowadays was the kind of supercomputer only the CIA had to crack really difficult codes with back when Curse came out, and an incredible miracle of technology back when Revenge came out. Your computer can handle them. (Probably)

Ok I uhh guess. now is there a way to get downloadable version of curse, my laptop can't play CDS. That currently is why I cant play PC games, almost all require CDs(another reason why I thank telltale)
EDIT: Also, to whoever stated above, yes I am using the PS2 version, Gamefly doesnt let you rent PC games.

  • I think you'd have to pirate it. Your only legal option for playing Curse would be to use another computer to copy the data off the game discs and put it on a flash drive, transfer it to your laptop, and run it using ScummVM. And it would totally be worth it.

But if the laptop is too old to play CDs, would it have USB ports? Maybe it can only read floppy disks or zip disks or something.

So, do you have USB ports on your laptop? How do you transfer files to it from other machines? What brand and model of laptop do you own? (just curious what the specs are)

    EDIT:
since it seems you can get to the net from your laptop, the solution to getting Revenge at least can easily be resolved by, say visiting an abandonware website.
    such as:
(If you wonder about file sizes, the entire LeChuck's Revenge game is 9 Megabytes after it's been installed.)
Remember to run the game using ScummVM

now, as far as Curse is concerned, what I would do is:
    1) Buy a legit copy.
    2) Using another PC, copy the RESOURCE folders, and COMI.LA0, COMI.LA1, COMI.LA2 files from the Curse game CDs to a device, such as a USB flash drive, and then to a folder on your laptop. (no need to install it, just copy those files.) The combined space needed for said files is slightly less than 1 GB.
    3) Run the game using ScummVM

Otherwise, if your only option is to download files from the net, I would get a torrented copy, but make sure you bought a legit copy first, for legal reasons.

Ah, but he never said it was too old to play CDs. He said it wasn't very good and he said it didn't play CDs, but not that it was too old to. It still could be too old to play discs, or possibly the disc drive on it burned out like the one on mine did. Or maybe there's another reason.

  • Oh I see. I guess someone mentioning that the games are old made my mind leap to "can't play CDs because it's too old".

Apparently it can go online though, so any sending yourself the game in an email would work if all else fails. It's not that big.
