Assassin's Creed: Revelations announced

New Assassin's Creed game finally announced.

My first thought is 'More bloody Ezio?'. My second is 'Seriously, enough with Ezio already! The series is supposed to be about multiple assassins from Desmond's lineage, not the same one over and over again!'. My third thought is 'Multiplayer again? Screw that.'

  • Just playing through Brotherhood at the moment so trying not to look into this too deeply until I've finished it but from what I've seen it'll be Ezio's last chapter (as they refer to it) and will also feature Altaïr. At least it'll be moving away from Italy to the Ottoman Empire & Constantinople.

As for multiplayer, it's optional! I understand why they've added it but I'm generally not a fan of online multiplayer (only real exception is the Fifa & NHL series). And it does sort of make sense in the storyline scheme of things as a training ground for Abstergo agents.

  • I think a game where gameplay shifts between Altair, Ezio, and Desmond sounds awesome. But I'm even further behind than Biggins: I don't have a PS3/360 and refuse to deal with Ubisoft's DRM on the PC, so I had to play the first two games on my cousin's Xbox and haven't had a chance to play Brotherhood at all yet.

  • This'll be fantastic, but... what happened to the 3DS game? :(

  • I would imagine it'll be still coming.

  • Yeahh!!!! Constantinople! I think this is great news for that Istanbulian guy around here.

  • I, too, am kind of tired of Ezio at this point, although I'm so in love with AC's storyline that even another full Ezio game wouldn't stop me from playing it. I'm curious as to what the plot's going to be--the present day Assassins are looking for some Piece of Eden that Altair and Ezio both encountered in Instanbul/Constantinople, perhaps?

Achievements. If I want to get all the achievements for ACBroHood, I have to play multiplayer. I hate this. I don't want to be forced to play multiplayer for a few gamer points, and my OCD won't let me not do it. This really does crop up way more than it should.

    Yo'.

I'm not really into the franchise of Assassin's Creed, but I have a friend in Turkey who's a BIG fan. Here's the catch; he has NEVER been to Istanbul (he doesn't like here either). He'll probably fangasm anyway.

  • I couldn't give a big pile of dung about achievements. But that's just me.

Also Guru I seem to remember reading that Ubisoft were at least reducing the severity of their DRM so you don't have to be connected to the internet all the time, just every time you start the game. Whoo(!) Anyway, I know they've patched AC2 already but don't know about Brotherhood.

As for Revelations, having both Ezio & Altaïr in Constantinople (you think they both will be in the same city at least) is a good way to show both the Byzantine & Ottoman empires and compare them against each other in the same location. Possibly even in modern Istanbul as well.

I can agree with this. I really don't like multiplayer achievements most of the time. It's okay if its something simple like "win 10 games" or whatever, but usually there's one or two wherein all the planets must align magically for you to get it. Aaargh.
