Jail Experience....

Well, I have another section checked off my bucketlist.... I spent the last 24hrs in jail! For someone over 6ft tall, those cop cars are TINY! I still can't feel two fingers on my left hand, I had to cram my legs sideways, then couldn't hardly get out by myself.

I thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience tho. It gives you new perspective on life as a productive member of society. Since I was in classification the whole time, you just sit in a little 8x10 cell looking at the walls. You get out to grab food and take to your cell, and for 1hr a day to stand in the middle of the cells and look at a different wall. The food was actually ok, but cruel. Hotdogs, cold french fries and baked beans!? It isn't cool having to poop 4ft from your bed, especially if you have a cellmate. Not to mention when it's "Lights out" at 11pm, the light only dims, doesn't go off. On top of that, you get a blanket and a sheet but NO PILLOW! You either choose to have a pillow OR a blanket, either being freezing or getting a huge crick in your neck(I chose freezing). Oh and lights come back on at 6am sharp, you get breakfast, then go back to staring at the crudely drawn vaginas someone left on the wall. Cuffs on your ankles hurt like hell, people seeing you in courtroom dressed like a granny in baggy zebra clothes, and wearing said zebra clothes with no underwear allowed is pretty crazy stuff.

Stay in school, start a business, live the American dream, BUT STAY AWAY FROM WOMEN!!! They're the evil of the world lol

Thanks for sharing. It's interesting to hear about what it was like. I don't see the purpose in forcing you to choose between either a pillow or a blanket. The purpose of jail is to take away your basic freedoms, and try to reform you. Not freeze you to death.

  • Exactly... I don't see how staring at a wall forever is supposed to reform anyone either lol

  • Would you feel better if they gave you some chalk?

Or would you prefer your rehabilitation Clockwork Orange style?

  • @Johro said: Would you feel better if they gave you some chalk?

How do you think the vaginas got on the wall?

  • Ive spent 5 years in Prison. Wanna talk about reform?
Jail is a fuckin joke dude. You didn't experience anything yet. Prison and jail are 2 totally different things. and I think your Hollywood coated eyes and story telling is kicking in.

im 6'4 280 lbs. 6 feet tall is the average they go on. so everything should have fit just right for you.

where were you in jail exactly?. where im from jail is holding cells in the police station. there is no "lights out", just keep piling them in till its full. And why did you have shackles on? only time they ever put feet shackles on me was when i was up on some serious charges. and they didnt hold me for 24 hours they held me for 4 weeks.

and they stopped using black and white jail outfits years ago. they are all orange now bro.
"Striped prison uniforms commonly used in the 19th century were abolished in the United States early in the 20th century because their continued use as a badge of shame was considered undesirable."

anyways. either american jails (i figure you are american) are done alot different then Canadian..... or this story didn't happen lol

  • They will shackle you if you are seen as violent or uncooperative, especially if you're under influence(possible for a 24hr stay)... when you are outside your cell.

yeah and they also hold you for longer then 24 hours if you are in this state.

  • Ok where to start lol

It was local jail, in the US, and yes the outfits were black and white stripes!
They put shackles on everyone's feet to go to court hearing, and yes other people were there, and yes the uniform was shameful. We stood up one by one to have our charges announced, at which point they set bail. I got out on bail a few hours later.

The squad car I was taken to jail in had about 8inches of leg room. You think that accommodates someone over 6ft tall? I still can't feel two of my knuckles on my left hand because of how I had to sit to fit in there.

I told it exactly how it happened. You obviously know nothing about jail in the US and your "hollywood eyes" are what are leading you to draw assumptions of jail here.

They put a very small pencil in your belongings to fill out medical paperwork if you have any, and that's how the vaginas got on the wall lol

  • I guess the moral of this thread is:

Why draw assumptions when you can draw vaginas.
