( IPAD ) Restoring/Transffering Purchases ?

I see there is no button for " restoring purchases " when I tried to get back my purchased of the MULTI-EPISODE pack in my new IPad . Where the heck did it go ?

This may be a stupid question to others, but I am new to IPad games since I recently purchased Walking Dead for $ 4.99.

I must say - the game is extraordinary. Mastered storytelling and beautiful animations. In short, it's one hella'f a game !

But I have a problem. A question more like it.

I purchased Walking Dead MULTI- SEASON PACK in my other IPad and well .... I'm not sure if I purchased it correctly but I did see the " advertisement " disappear so I am assuming I purchased it.

Anyways, I am planning to transfer all my recent purchases on my other iPad to my new one since my other iPad is to be used for work. But I see no option that states " restore purchases ".

I don't want to click purchase again to see if I don't have to pay for it or pay again for it. I need some confirmation that once I purchased it through my Apple account, will I be able to transfer it to my new IPad without paying again ?

Long story short, how am I suppose to transfer my purchases from my old IPad to my new one for I have purchased the MULTI SEASON PACK thingie ... ?

  • Try going to the AppStore and checking the "Purchased" tab, second from the right. There you will see all the apps that you currently own, provided that you are using the same Apple ID. Just tap the cloud to begin the download. I believe that you don't need to do anything to get Multi-season pack back - it should be there.

  • I did. It's been there since I've purchased it some time ago.

    I purchased Episode 1 of Walking Dead through my old IPad ( disabled iCloud ) and then pre-purchased the Multi- Episode Pack also on the that SAME OLD IPAD.

    But that SAME OLD IPAD is to be reformatted and used for work. And I have a new IPad for gaming and entertainment directly.

    I logged in my App Store Account thought the new one, re-downloaded all my purchased apps from the old IPad including Episode 1 of Walking Dead but My pre-purchased of the Multi-Episode Pack disappeared and the ad showed up saying I should buy it while it's 25 % off ... Which I already did !

    Some of you said I should simply buy it again, assuming I am on the Apple Account in which I purchased the MULTI- EPISODE pack, and simply wait for a message stating that I purchased it already and only needs to be downloaded without charge.

    I did that and encountered Apple asking for my Security Code .... password and to out my CC info again. I got freaked out at this moment ... Hell no am I gonna pay $ 14.99 for it again !

    What should I do ? Should I just proceed and hope for the best or contact support for both Telltale and Apple ?

  • I purchased the multi-season pack on my iPad, but on my iPhone, it's acting like I haven't purchased the pack. Do I really need to purchase it separately on each device?

    Edit: I'm sure that both WizzY's problem and mine can be solved with a "restore purchases" button like he was asking about in his first post. I've seen it (and used it) in many apps before. I've never seen an app after being deleted and reinstalled or installed on a new device restore IAP content automatically. The "restore purchases" function would resolve this.

    It shouldn't be. It's a one time payment for a game even though you transfer it to any other supported Apple devices.

    Unfortunately, the Multi-Episode Pack wants me to buy it again also ... On My new IPad in which my account ( that I used to buy the pack ) is logged into.

    I feel kinda scared to tap the buy button again because the worse could happen. They'll charge me $ 14.99 again for something I payed for already.

    At least they should put a " Restore Purchases " option.

    You should definitely contact Telltale support before purchasing it again. I plan to if there's no official response in this thread in the next day or so.

  • I had the same problem - I purchased the pack on my iPad and them I wanted to play it my iPod. I got the same ad pop up, then I tried to purchase it again. Now, it is normal for iTunes to demand you to confirm your payment info when suddenly you try to buy something using a new device, so I confirmed my security code. The next message that popped up was "You have already purchased this item. Would you like to download it again?".
    Well, so I did. The message disappeared and I assume that now I have the multipack on both devices.

    The reason you still have the ad is that you need to download a tiny "key" that unlocks the subsequent episodes when they become available.

    If you want to be completely sure you should contact either Telltale or Apple. Just saying, I was in exactly the same situation and I wasn't charged twice and I'm pretty sure that you won't be either.

  • I can confirm this worked on my iPhone. It really looks like it's going to charge you, but when you enter your password, it says "you've already purchased this, click OK to download it for free". This is how they used to do downloading Apps before the App Store started keeping track of whether you'd already purchased something or not back in the day, so it makes sense I guess.

  • hi, I purchased the walking dead yesterday (episode 1) for the ipad (I have ipad2) and completed it. I then bought the multipack, but it still says "coming soon" when I try to play episode 2. I understand from these forums that episode 2 and 3 have already been released? Even on the itunes page (I live in Hong kong) it only has episode 1 as *AVAILABLE NOW*, and not for the other episodes. Please help!

    Episode 2 is not released yet for the iPad. In all other consoles except for iOS, episode 2 has been released. Telltale said that episode 2 will be released for iOS in the new upcoming weeks. Episode 3 has not been released yet.
