Some random questions while playing Episode 4 (Spoilers)

SPOILERS!

1. Why the sudden movie in-jokes? I counted at least two Star Wars and one Back to the Future reference in the dialogue.

2. Has "Clementine?!" become the new "Jason?!"

3. When will these guys learn that leaning down and staring at doors is not how you get them open?

4. Why did Vernon ask whether they came into town by train?

5. At the end, I got exactly 50% on every single choice? Can that be for real or is that a glitch?

6. Who is it?! WHO IS IT?!

Remember how many walkers were following the train? Thats why
Dont understand why no one else saw them though

  • 1. Dunno, at least we know what movies TTG likes.
    2. Definitely.
    3. When the TTG folks decide to add more animations.:D
    4. Vernon probably saw your train, IMO, if he saw the herd he would've warned you when talking to you about Clem.
    5. Glitch, think it's common for the first couple of days, I know it happened in the previous episodes.
    6. Who's radio-dude? Relative of the state senator Lee killed, I'd wager.

  • Walkie guy is Larry's brother.

  • Only caught Ben's "I have a bad feeling about this." line... what was the other Star Wars reference and what was the Back to the Future reference? If I missed a "Great Scot!" I'm going to be kicking myself.

Theres a section in the Motor Pool area where they quote an exchange from Return of the Jedi:

54 INT HEADQUARTERS FRIGATE - MAIN DOCKING BAY

The Millennium Falcon rests beyond the stolen IMPERIAL SHUTTLE, which
looks anomalous among all the Rebel ships in the vast docking bay.
Chewie barks a final farewell to Lando and leads Artoo and Threepio up
the shuttle, crowded now with the Rebel strike team loading weapons and
supplies. Lando turns to face Han. Luke and Leia have said their good-
byes and start up the ramp.

    HAN
Look. I want you to take her. I mean it. Take her. You need all the
    help you can get. She's
the fastest ship in the fleet.

    LANDO
All right, old buddy. You know, I know what she means to you. I'll take
    good care of her.
    She-she won't get a scratch. All right?

    HAN (looks at him warmly)
Right. I got your promise now. Not a scratch.

... and as for the Back to the Future one..no idea, though it looked to me as though some of the wrecked cars were made from a Delorian model.

  • Didn't even pick up on that...

Ok, blankcanvasdj, what's the Back to the Future reference?

Yeah, taking that long to bust down a door was dumb.

Wasn't this episode written by a brand new writer? That is probably why.

    4. Why did Vernon ask whether they came into town by train?

My theory is that he escaped the city with the train, this is why he asked you. If you came by the railroad, he know he can borrow the train. Remember that if his whole group left, with supplies, it's not to hide in Crawford, and it's not to move by boat.

It's obviously to take the train : no other choice here.
