warning episode 2 spoilers below!

OMG, I just had the greatest realization evar!

after seing all the hate to ben i felt kind of sorry for him so i tried to think of SOMETHING that he caused that saved the group.

BEN HAS SAVED THE GROUP! or at least everyone who was on the farm anyway :L

remember at the start of episode 2, when you take teacher/troy back to the base but they die, turn into zombies, and try to eat kat? ben tells you that you die and turn into zombie without being bitten. without ben, you would have assumed that the teacher/troy was bitten and not know that die=zombie. so when larry gets the heart attack in meat locker, you wouldn't have killed him and lilly would have continued CPRing him. he would have zombified and killed everyone! and duck/katjaa would have been eaten by andy and danny and brenda :P

ben has helped in a way no one has every thought of! :D

  • Actually No, if you decide to help Larry you can rivive him ,but after that Kenny immediately crush Larry's head with the salt block. Ben hasnt saved the group he is still useless.

i dont think it has actually been confirmed if larry was dead/alive :L

  • Some fairly big Episode 3/4 spoilers in my post, for your sake OP.

Interesting point, but they could of potentially learned that not too long after. Chuck evidently knew it, he saved a bullet in his revolver to destroy his brain, Vernon knew as he told Christa to get away from Omid when he appeared to be dead.

You know, the motor inn group may of remained there for the majority of the time after they found mark with all his commissary food, for those three months. They wouldn't of had to go out, scavenge for anything or deal with walkers, they had a stroke of luck. During those three months, it may have been common knowledge to 90% of other survivor groups who didn't have such luck. Ben said 'Don't you know?' as if it a well known fact that the bite isn't what reanimates you.

It's unknown whether Larry was brought back to life by Lilly or he was simply reanimating. If Ben hadn't told them by that point, Kenny may not of been so anxious to make sure his brain was destroyed. Then again, if he did reanimate as a walker and know one was expecting it, Lilly could of gotten the chomp very easily...

There are very many 'What if?' scenarios in the walking dead. It's similar to the first time you play through an episode and you wonder how differently things could of gone, or if the opposite choice wouldn't of changed anything.

Sounds like a very anti-ben post, but I have nothing against him. None of his intents were malicious, just as many other characters who sometimes fuck up, including Lee himself. It may be more common for him being younger and more naive but that doesn't give us the excuse to turn into people like the ones from Crawford.

I can proudly say I backed up Ben when threatened by Kenny and saved him in episode 4.

He just had a heart attack.

watch closely around 2:00 its quite difficult to see.but if you watch closely you can see He was breathing just before kenny thrown the salt lick on his head.

It's debatable whether that's the beginning of him turning into a walker, or Lilly's successful CPR.

I didn't say or infer that you didn't think Ben is fine, I was agreeing you in fact although in a different way. :P

  • Doesn't count. Ben is useless. And I enjoyed my part in his death

    Still doesn't count though.
Too many "If"s in the equation, let alone the fact that he didn't save the group on purpose. :p
