TWD: Can't download Episode 5!!!

Greetings,

I'm an EU PC user and I'm having the same error while trying to download Episode 4 when I try to download Ep. 5 from the game. It says "Check your internet connection" again!...
Is there a similar workaround thread for Ep. 5 to manually download files?
This is really starting to annoy me...

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the game, now I can't download any of the episode files starting from ep 2..
The "so-called patch" which was supposed to fix this issue is still present.
Last time I wasn't even able to get the files from the manual download links via my home connection, I had to use a proxy to download them without problems.
This time, even I couldn't download the Ep101 setup from the Telltale menu in the site without a proxy.
I don't know what is wrong with your servers... but that patch clearly didn't do the job.
and I really hope it won't take a week or so to get a response from the Support team about this.

  • Fixed my issue with using the same workaround with manually downloading the extracted file links from the WalkingDead105.json file with a proxy, then copying them into the following directory:

    C:\Users\Username\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead\SyncFs\Data\WalkingDead105

    After copying I ran the game again and pressed GET, and the state has turned to Installed.
    The method's all same as the last workaround for Ep. 4.. Just open the json file under meta folder with notepad, take links from there and download manually... Also didn't notice any loss of saves.
    Telltale should really upgrade their technical approach to these kind of things.

  • shouldnt need a work around period ttg should have this up and working correctly love the gaqme love it but these mishaps have become a every download day nightmare cant wait to actually get it workin then ni wont have to deal with it lol next season im so buyin it on freakin steam or console.

    We are not experiencing any server issues. If you have to use a proxy to get even the base installer, and when using the proxy this downloads fine, this may be an issue with your Internet Service Provider. The problems many users experienced when Episode 4 launched were not being able to download content through the in-game menu. Accessing our website and downloading the installation file was not an issue. Your ISP may be regulating the amount of data you can access, or the locations where you can get that data from.

    Had major problem getting episode 4. Looks like the same problems again. Can't believe Telltale haven't sorted things out in all this time. Don't blame my ISP. I've downloaded several games today, yet this still won't work.

    What's the link for manually downloading the WalkingDead105.json file?

    The problem experienced when Episode 4 launched was patched, and affected only additional game episodes downloaded through the in-game menu. This problem would not have been solved by using a proxy. The issue described with not being able to download the installation file is unrelated, and using a proxy to resolve it confirms this.

    If Episode 5 shows as Coming Soon on your Episode States menu, then when you launched the game and selected 'Continue' on the Title Screen, the game was not able to reach our servers to update the episode status. Due to the large volume of traffic on our server right now, timeouts such as this can happen. To resolve it, please shut down and restart your computer, and then launch the game again. When you press 'Continue', you should see the message 'Refreshing Episode States'. If you don't see this, please restart and try again. Restarting will clear your cache, which temporarilly saves the Coming Soon state, so it's necessary to restart before launching the game each time.

    This did not resolve the issue for me after multiple restarts of my computer.

  • Same problem here , been working on this all day!!! THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!! PLEASE HELP FIX THIS PROBLEM! I have redownloaded the game, i have restarted it. I have Played Episode 4 3x today and it will not save or at the end it shows you what choices you have made and not who went with you to save Clementine! OMG I AM FUMING! I WANT TO PLAY!!!:mad:
