Scene with Brenda **Spoiler** (no, it's not a glitch)

Yeah, I know the scene with Brenda and Katjaa is not a glitch. But it's still awful. It stands out as the worst scene in the game, all the more so because the rest of the game is so great.

It's terrible for several reasons, not least of which is that it's incredibly "gamey" and therefore stands out in an otherwise emotional, story-driven game.

I mean, why not have players match colored cubes for cash to be used to calm Brenda down? How about a Facebook page where you have to get a certain number of Likes to pass the scene? Why not a rhythm game while you're at it?

Rhetorical questions aside, the stupid red light/green light game is silly in an otherwise serious game. It doesn't help that the controls are overly sensitive (that's coming from a keyboard-using PC gamer) and that there's no way to figure out what's going on without using the Internet or vast boatloads of trial and error.

Telltale should just fix the problem and apologize, or barring that, just fix the problem.

The rest of the game is wonderful.

  • What? I've never been killed in that section other than when I intentionally used the bottom dialogue choices to rile her. That part is insanely easy. I certainly didn't need to resort to the internet to figure out how to get past it.

It didn't feel gamey at all. At least not any more than the rest of the game. She was holding Kat hostage and Lee was trying to talk her down before zombie Mark did his thing.

  • I get killed a couple of times. :P Because I called her a bitch and didn't stop when she pointed the gun at me.

Didn't have too much of a problem though - what with me being on PC with a shitty mouse and stuff.

Worst scene would be getting the train to start in Ep 3 (I think). The entire getting biscuits for Duck from the car seems so pointless.

    Worst idea ever. No thanks.

I died once from not stopping walking. I can see people die twice or even three times if they are really not thinking (insulting someone with a gun isn't so smart). But having to google the solution? LoL... and the controls are perfectly fine. Might wanna check your keyboard for sticky keys etc.

  • What? That's one of my Top 5 fav parts!

  • Out of all the nit-picks in the game, you've chosen this? Wait... what?

It's beyond my comprehension, as to how people manage to have difficulty with this part.

The game practically holds your hand the whole time playing, but in that one scene, we were actually given a (albeit easy) CHALLENGE. I LIKED that part, and wish there was more sequences with that much intense interaction. That part should only be hard for people with a sensitive controller on a console.

This is completely ridiculous, haha. I can't take anything you've said seriously now.

  • I don't understand how you could have difficulty with this. To me it was blatantly obvious. She points the gun at you, you stop. Died once and instantly saw the pattern.

Exactly. There were a few moments in the game that were too "gamey" but stopping when the person pointing a gun at you tells you to stop walking is not one of them.

  • I only died once then I got it. maybe it is because I play on the Xbox. You just stop when she says to stop, talk to her and reason with her, then walk some more. Repeat until she becomes walker kibble :)

  • Hell, I zipped right through it the first try. Telltale told you to creep up slowly on Jolene's camp. For me, it seemed like a practice scene, and when you got to Brenda, you knew what to do. It had a good, tense feel, and I had fun making that bitch inch back into zombie Mark's chompers!
