What happened to Lee's leather jacket?

I just don't understand why Lee suddenly goes from wearing a leather jacket in episode 2 to the thin shirt he was wearing in episode 1. There is no way in hell a zombie could bite through a leather jacket, if Lee was wearing the jacket when he was bitten, it wouldn't have done shit to him.

The jacket, if you don't remember it:

  • A zombie took it. Being serious TT got rid of it because if lee still had it he wouldn't have got bit we would have had a rick moment.

  • Which begs the question, why have it in the first place?

It's less welcome when you realize that he wouldn't have died a slow, painful death had he still been wearing it.

Plot explanation: Him getting bitten was part of the plot, so it would have happened anyway.

In-universe explanation: Zombie go for exposed flesh. Lee would have been bit on the hand rather than the forearm.

  • On the day chapter three began, it had gotten a tad warmer, so Lee opted not to wear the jacket that day, leaving it in his room at the motel. After the raid, the group escaped the motor inn pretty quickly, not stopping to grab any personal belongings other than what was already in the RV. The leather jacket is still hanging in the closet in Lee's room at the motor inn. There's your storyline explanation!

If Lee did get bit on the hand and chose to conceal it, he would've needed a glove to keep it hidden from the others. Unless there was one laying on the ground beside the garbage or something, there wouldn't have been any way for him to conceal it

Hmm... Zombie bite or slightly warm?

The bite is preferable, of course!
