Can Clementine's story end without her dying ?

Am i the only one who thinks that Clementine story arc should end without her dying or getting killed by walkers , bandits or other psychopats or maybe based on our choices like if you played like a dick then she will be a heartless monster and she can die or if you played good she can survive and possibly meet Omid and Christa and it would be the last time we see them as they became a group and survive as a family .
Some people suggest that Clem should die because it would make season 2 much emotional and it would show that no one is safe but if she dies cannon and we can't change her death like Lee , Carley , Kenny , Ben , Larry , Shawn etc , than all of our choices were all for nothing if she dies no matter what and Lee's sacrifice will be thrown in the trash and it would be a big middle finger to the relationship of Lee and Clem and to everybody who love them .
So does anyone else agree that Clem shouldn't not get killed canon to show that our choices really matter ?

  • That is perhaps the most difficult part of Season 2, I think they should not kill her off now, but when ever they think they should end the series is when she has to die, as bad as it sounds it will happen at some point, so why not make the last thing.

  • I definitely support the idea of a non-canon ending, where her state (life/death), level of sanity (good/bad) is determined by decisions and actions from both season 1 and 2, and where everyone could get his own, satisfying ending.

If they were to do that, it'd be cool if it was like the Fallout 3/NV endings, where each had an ending movie, but each scene was determined by different decisions, so there were many, many combinations, and thus many different endings, I think counting all combinations it'd be at least a two-digit number, probably around 10-20.

  • A Fallout NV ending would be great, I just do not think they have the resources to do it, being the small company they are. That would make the choices matter more then they did, I did not mind that they did not matter that much but I would be happy if they did matter more this Season.

  • Maybe this time, we would have more than 1 ending (except for the part where you choose to leave Lee or shoot him). Would be great to have one where Clem lives and one where she dies.

  • This is " The Walking Dead" we need to see how comics will end for doing some forecast about Clementine's fate. I mean: Clementine is a main character for all story (not Lee), Rick is a main character of comics storyline, I think, if Rick will survive in the end, then Clem have a chance.

You're comparing Clem to Rick? That's interesting. I always compare her to Carl. Both are seemingly never going to die.

As for the topic, a situation in which Clem's fate is questionable (like the post credits scene for season 1) would probably be the best way to send off her story.

  • No, because in the comics the main character is 'considered' Carl, for Rick is doing everything for his son. His son will survive past Rick and have to live in what he left behind, same as Clem did. Whether Clem has a chance or not, I don't know. However, if I had to choose between a choice with Clem's death or plain death, sorry... but I'd choose plain death. For a story like this, I would rather 100% be sure as to what happened to her than feel like I messed with how she was supposed to be played out. I wouldn't want a world full of rainbows if it was supposed to rain. I know it's hard to think like that, but I think it'd be for the best. Now if I had the chance to keep her safe, don't doubt I wouldn't take it! I don't WANT her to die, but if need be, I can say goodbye :/

So, you think that Rick=Lee. Carl=Clementine?

  • To be honest, yes. The children are the future, and it is the parents who must guide them through safely to make it to their time to become adults. It's the cycle, and eventually, Rick won't be needed. Carl has lost family just as Clem has, and in truth Clementine is in a much worse position than Carl, although I think she'd survive easier, just because Carl is CRAZZZZZZZY.
