Why Didn't the abandon Omid choice ever happen?

After episode 3 in the preview for episode 4 Christa says something like Omid can't go much further and Kenny says something like "or we leave him". This led everyone at the time to predict the main choice in episode 4 was to be whether we stayed with Christa and Omid or left with Kenny. Why do you think the scene and choice was cut out of the episode?

Personally, I would have left them for Kenny. Like if a horde came Omid would just slow us down.

  • The scene was still kinda there, in a sense. In the beginning of episode 4, you can opt to "keep walking" in the street, when Christa will get into an argument with Kenny. Kenny will remark that the group does not include "her and her boyfriend".

But yeah, I remember this theory back in the day.

  • Mainly because Kenny didn't have a boat to abandon Omid for...
There was no need to abandon Omid when the only boat was not ready yet and it would be possible to get medicine and save him...
Telltale decided to do the whole Crawford thing so chose that over un-necessary conflict within the group

  • I think they never planed to get rid of Omid, they just put that in the trailer to throw us off, and knowing Omid now if that choice was there I would have saved him, even if I am Team Kenny Forever.

  • I would have left Ben and Kenny if I had to for Omid and Christa. Sorry but they were clearly good people and at this point in time I had enough of Ben and Kenny was really annoying me.

  • If it were a choice I would have stayed, maybe if things got really bad and the option was there I would have got Kenny to take Clementine and probably Ben to safety and helped Christa with Omid. I don't think they should leave Omid behind though, and I would have argued with Kenny about it. I normally agree with him on most of the choices he makes (apart from leaving the girl to get eaten by Walkers in Ep 3, dropping Ben in Ep 2 and the whole Boat plan in general seems flawed) but I don't agree with leaving Omid behind.

  • This line does get said in the episode :)
    it's something like this..

Christa: "your not fine you need to rest... He needs to rest"

Lee: "We have to keep moving, it's too dangerous out here in the open"

Christa "I'm not sure how much longer he can go on like this, if his leg gets any worse we'll have to carry him.

    Kenny: ... or leave him

Christa: What? No! that's not an option, we can't..

Kenny: Lady! I've known you for all of 12 hours you don't say we unless you mean just you and him

the scene's pretty dramatic I wish they'd left it in as canon and added Lee a different decision since most people just cop out (like I did) and say "Kenny how much farther"

Yeah it would have been interesting

  • I don't think it was planned, and was put there to mislead us a bit. I think I heard that they cut Crawford completely out of the "Next Time" segment after Episode 3.

Yeah it was probably Red Herring like in episode 2 preview it implies that their will be a war with the bandits instead of the real conflict being with the brothers.
