The Wolf Among Us - The Wolf Among Us - Episode 1: Faith
So I was bored and decided to do a "Lazy Sheriff" playthrough of Episode 1. Basically, it's a silent playthrough, but in addition to staying silent the whole time, you also don't take any action outside of what you need to do in order to progress.
Here are some interesting things I found (BTW, this kinda breaks the illusion of the game so don't read if you'll be bothered by that):
You DON'T have to pick up the matchbook at the beginning of the game or hang up the phone.
You can fail EVERY single prompt during the Woodsman fight until the axe comes out. (There's actually an impressive amount of action sequences that very few people will see.)
You can choose to NOT investigate the crime scene after finding Faith's head, meaning that you'll never get the piece of cloth. (This seems like the silliest choice in the game to me. Why would anybody choose this on a normal playthrough???)
You ONLY have to ask the Mirror about one person the first time and then Lawrence the second time.
You ONLY need to investigate the blood puddle and the murphy bed at Lawrence's place.
If you don't mash while lifting the couch in the Dee chase, Bigby lifts it up a little and barrel rolls under it. (This is actually really neat detail I didn't expect.)
You can fail EVERY single prompt during the Dee chase.
You can immediately get tough with Toad without looking at the room at all.
You can fail EVERY single prompt during the Grendel fight, until he's about to ram you into the wall after you've turned wolf.
Overall the little changes in scenes and dialogue were interesting, but what's really interesting about this playthrough is the difference in how little this Bigby knows about what’s going on by the end of the episode compared to Bigby from a normal playthrough. I've done next to no investigation here. I have no idea that anyone climbed over the fence, I don't know that the mirror can't tell me about Faith, I don't know how long ago the gun at Lawrence's place was fired. The only things in my inventory by the end are the ring and the money (and I could have given that away too). That's it. No cloth, no tarot card, no bullet, no gun. Nothing. I wonder how this is going to play out in the later episodes.
I'll update this thread with details about Episodes 2, 3, 4, and 5 as they come out.
