what game system is better...

I do all my gaming on my PC, but I do have a PS3 also.. The first season was quite a nightmare getting the game to run right on this PC, does it run better on the PS3 ??

Season one PC went a little like this for me...

Day 1 .. downloaded the game and all the episodes fine, played till like end of second ep, everything was awesome..

Day2.. went to play..Game would not open and run at all, delete game and reinstalled five times till it would open and then crash some 101.exe error.. reinstall a couple more times....Give up..

Day3 after much pain getting the game to run, I could only play episode 1, the rest said coming soon

Day4.. Ok Telltale must have fixed that problem because now with this new install all the episodes were there..Played a wile called it a day..

Day5.. went to play, the game opened in window mode after a few times. but now all my saved games are gone evrytime I restart the game my saves are gone..

So the way I ended up playing season 1 was to play each episode with the computer making past decisions for me and play it out like that..not much fun eh??

So if it runs better on the PS3 I go that way even though I'm a PC gamer at heart,I play all games from this system.

  • Get it on PS3.. it's funner.

  • It runs way worse in ps3

  • Both systems have issue but overall

Consoles - Freeze a bit after making decisions PC- Has save file glitchs and where you buy it from sometimes messes stuff up

However they both share the major glitch's (Brenda etc) Overall I prefer console mainly due to the dialogue options being presented in a four way option rather than you having to scroll through them on PC

  • PC is the best, even if there is the odd save file glich its easisly sorted where as on console if there is a glitch with a save file when its gone, its gone for good. It runs alot smoother on the PC where as on the console it tends to load slower and have jumps between scenes, I'm not going into debate about which is better, Its just a fact it runs better on it.

  • As a rule I'd go with PC, but that's assuming your computer isn't way out of date. What are the details of your PC (OS, Processor, GPU, amount of RAM)?

  • Go for the PC if you don't want the freeze screen to ruin your game.

  • I played it on both the PS3 and PC (with no problems on either, except for some weird graphical glitches in episode 3 on PS3), and I prefer the PC, especially during the fast paced sections that are a bit too hard to do without a mouse. But then again, I didn't have the problems you had either. This is really one of those "your mileage may vary" situations.

  • I played it on both my PC and my PS3. To be honest, it ran much smoother on my PC with little to no lags/glitches. On my PS3 though, it had occasional stutters and it lagged in certain points in the game.

  • Hmm I'll stick with the PC again, here is my PC info, let me know if anyone sees anything wrong.. I play all kinds of games though and never really had these problems on anything else..

    • Damn you have a godlike cpu

    • Yeah, it doesn't look like there is anything wrong with your PC's build. I was just worried you were sporting XP service pack 3 or Vista in which case some drivers could have been well out of date (and possibly old hardware).

I found something about the 101.exe error on the FAQ:

"Help! I'm trying to launch the game and immediately getting a "WalkingDead101.exe has stopped working" error. What do I do?!

There's a few things you can do to resolve this. First, make sure you meet the minimum requirements for the game. This is important. If you don't meet the minimum requirements, there may be little if anything we will be able to do to troubleshoot your issue.

      Try rebooting your system.

If you're using Steam, verify the integrity of the game cache. If you're not sure how to do this, the link below will walk you through it.

      https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

Try right-clicking game's executable, which is WalkingDead101.exe, and then click Run As Adminstrator.

If it's still not working, right-click the game's executable, click Properties, click the Compatibility tab, and then check the options to run in compatibility mode for Windows 98/ME. Also check the option to disable desktop composition."

Also I've read some folks had trouble launching the game if they had a XBOX controller hooked into the PC. I experienced this bug with Wolf Among Us. So I'd try forcing the game to run in administrator mode and unplug everything but the bare essentials from your computer just to make sure some random device isn't causing a crash.

Now one thing they're trying to do with Season 2 is make it "bug free" so in theory the sort of problems you've had with Season 1 will not be present with Season 2. Anyway I hope this was helpful.
