Which games are you currently playing?

basically name a game or more that you are currently playing (or have been recently) and say what you think of it.

Prince of Persia (newest): It is OK, not as good as the last 3, the removal of death as a deterrent is irritating, I wish they had not done it, it seems like a way to appeal to "casuals". I think the combat is dry and repetitive also.

Smash Bros:brawl: Overall an excellent game, however a lot of the mechanics from melee worked better in my opinion

Halo Wars: the best RTS I have played on a console, over simplified compared to PC ones, although that is to be expected. It is a pity Ensemble don't exist anymore

  • The Simpsons: Hit and Run. Camera can be bitch at times, and the controls are kinda fiddly, but it's still a fun little game. Just don't play it when you're sleep deprived, you'll snap at the slightest bump.

  • It's SO GOOD. The camera is terrible, but the game is SO GOOD.

  • I am playing game Dev Tycoon...
    I am really enjoying it...
I have made some great games from Wallace and Gromit Simulator 2013 to Sam and Max dance across the road...

  • Going through the story DLC packs of Dishonored. Man those are worth their money.

  • Ok so I was playing Tales of Graces f the other day and I came across the games first actually hard puzzle.

It was in a secret side dungeon, and it was a redirecting light beam puzzle along a grid with directional valves puzzle.
But the twist was, was that the light split into three different colors of light and became a color mixing puzzle as well.
Basically there was eventually an ENTIRE ROOM full of directional valves and coloured panels you had to light up with the right colour combinations.

And also what made it harder was that you couldnt have 3 colours going through the same panel at once.
(So you had to figure out the perfect routes for all three lights, AND mix them, AND make sure they didn't mix too much else the WHOLE PUZZLE RESETS! >:O)

I eventually figured out the whole key to the puzzle, and that was that you can split a mixed light back into its base colours by feeding it through a prism panel on the floor.
(so you had to mix the lights, prism them back out and then remix them with another color and make sure that none of the lights crossed over with other lights. A pretty DAMN HARD Puzzle to say the least, and much more fitting in an adventure game than an RPG! XD)

Oh look I found a vid with the solution in. But even the author agreed that the puzzle took about an hour of fiddling to solve! XD

I LOVE how nuts that game is, I love it!

  • Continuing playing Out of the Shadows. After changed the controls and graphic settings in the .ini (though, I have to keep a backup of the .ini and replace the game one's before every launch, port things.... maybe the settings stuff is going to be patched, who knows), and I'm enjoying it.

The combat system is very Arkhamy (there's melee, kick, counter, jump/evade, and you've got to hold longer combos) with an additional twist of holding the 'alternate' button (I guess it's one of the triggers if you use the controller) to perform team moves, team knockdowns, team counters and some special moves. The animation is very rich and satisfying (as well as dependent on enemies, for example when you fight Mousers it's a different animation set than for when you fight humans), and there's a lot of variation there. Seeing all four turtles fight like that is very cool.

There's also a taunt button, it's purpose is to try and "aggro" enemy from your teammate on you (and for some special upgrade-able abilities), and what's really cool is that there's also 'team taunting' as well, which can lead to funny in-game situations. Like, one time, I was controlling Mikey and performed a team knockdown with Donnie, and then pressed taunt and both Mikey and Donnie started dancing (with the "go ninja go ninja go" moves from the second live action movie). Feels very lively.

Gonna try it out in co-op, should be even more fun then.

You know what? I can see why this is considered a classic mobile title because its actually really, really good.
Ad pestering aside, (at least its only advertising itself like old shareware titles used to so i can't hate on it too much) it has some nicely designed levels with a load of mechanics that are introduced in a really nice casual way.
And it kind of rewards skill and timing too. Which is nice to see. :)
