Social networking, eh? Weigh in on your favorite sites...

So, we haven't exactly made it a secret that we're planning to announce our next series at E3. With this one we're definitely going to want to use our old friend the internet to spread the word, and we're really hoping you guys will help out with that!

Back in the day,* when we first announced Sam & Max, Digg was kind of our holy grail. Any day a Telltale blog got Dugg was a good day. But times change, and we're curious what you guys think are the best sites for spreading news quickly these days. Are you a Digg fan? Reddit? Slashdot? Where else should we be looking?

Of course, there's always Facebook and Twitter, and we plan to be all over those sites. But we're also looking for other ideas... places we might not be aware of, or that we maybe forgot existed while we've had our heads down working on all these games. So please tell us which social networking / news / other places you think we should have on our radar!

(And get those typing fingers ready, because in about three weeks we're going to let this cat out of the bag, and we'll need your help getting the word out...)

Youtube is pretty much the best option for spreading the word about something. Just look at how fast the "Hulu Tube" video became viral, and that video didn't even make sense!

  • Yep, a viral video would totally work with... what did you say the new series was about again?

    :p

Seriously though, if you can think of something interesting a youtube video is a great way to get visitors to the site, especially with the new in-video tags and links. A countdown site is also a good way to pique people's interest, or perhaps this new trend of unlocking content with visitors similar to what the Resident Evil 5 or Final Fantasy Chronicles Wii sites did. Although I imagine it's too late to plan that now but maybe in the future.

  • Countdown clock might be good. The best ones are ones like the Marvel Vs Capcom 2 clock, where it didn't say what it was for, but it was obvious enough that people were guessing MvS2. Got some hype going before the actual announcement.

One that you can download and keep on our desktop would be awsome

  • heres an idea. have a webpage up for the game, but just have it blank, with some teaser text, and give the link to kotaku, screwattacks hard news, joystiq, and the like.
    it works before.
