So I've decided to post a small history of all the things people complained the most about on the Telltale Forums in the time I've been around. Just as a little study. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with any of them, I'm only posting them to show off exactly how much people complain.

My diagnoses in the end is that...most of you are a bunch of whiny...yeah. Hooray for the internet!

So yeah...let me know if I left anything out. I'd just LOVE to make this list bigger, oh yes. I didn't die a little inside at the fact that this list can never be shortened, but can only get much much bigger. A piece of my very soul didn't begin crying after I accepted this fact. Nope. Not at all.

  • Empirical what? I don't know what that means.

Right that would matter if I was saying that any given person was complaining about all of these things. I'm lumping everyone together as a forum and as the "complainers" category, not as people who were angry about each and every one of these issues. The issue at hand isn't who was mad about what, it was that this forum complains entirely too much about everything. Either that or Telltale really are a bunch of reprehensible bastards who do shoddy work at every turn and shouldn't be trusted and should be shunned as a company. Hmm.

  • *lol*

    Bone beeing discontinued.
    :

  • You forgot the various cries about the controls in every game since Wallace & Grommit.

  • You forgot to include:

No Sam and Max Hit the Road
    No Freelance Police
    No Plunge Through Space
    No Bill Farmer
    No Nick Jameson
    No Harvey Atkin
    No Robert Tinkler

Pretty much covers complaint about Sam and Max so far. ^_^

  • @Rather Dashing said: I find that threads like these are entirely pointless.

Pointlessness seems to run rampant here though. What's up with all the X appreciation threads?

    X rules

  • Now, a game for everyone! Repeat the list and mark which you agree with! Fun for the whole family!

OR people have a large variety of opinions, and everyone has their own praise and issues with the company that they have to offer. We have to learn to live with people who dislike things that we like and who love things that we despise, because people having negative opinions isn't an epidemic, it's just one aspect of the way every person views the things they encounter in their lives. It seems incredibly reductionist to view complaints and negative feedback the way you do, especially with a company that is so well known for interacting with fans and reacting to customer feedback. Maybe we're all allowed to have a handful of things that are pet peeves, or really annoying, or important detractors from the quality of a thing that perhaps everybody else doesn't share. Maybe, just maybe, people CAN have opinions within a spectrum, rather than a black/white "I HATE THEM AND THEY ARE THIEVES" and "I LOVE THEM THEY ARE PERFECT". Maybe with all the people on these forums, it combines into a TON of praise and criticism that doesn't come together as a single, monolithic voice that decries or prays to Telltale, but instead act as a sea of voices with a variety of opinions. Maybe, just maybe, we can just try to get along instead of looking at each other's opinions, pointing them out, and saying "Man, that's dumb and you should stop that."

There we go, that seems to cover it.

  • You can take this list and flip each one, I'm sure you'd find an example of someone saying these things.... (these aren't all my opinions)

I didn't like Bone, I'm glad they aren't making more. They can concentrate on other things that I like!
Sam and Max is just the right level of difficulty.
Wallace and Gromit is quite easy, I like it that way
The guy who plays Wallace does a pretty good job.
Oh good, there's a Wallace and Gromit DVD now.
    Tales looks great in 3D.
    Wow, Monkey Island on Wiiware!
Sam and Max looks great on my machine, I'm really glad they increased system requirements.
Sam and Max is buggy, but I don't mind, it's workable.
    Tales screenshots look amazing.
    Tales graphics look fantastic.
New Guybrush looks exactly how I hoped he'd look.
    New LeChuck looks ace.
    New Elaine looks superb.
Mike Stemmle working on Tales (sort of) is a good thing.
Tales was just the right difficulty.

...you get the idea. I'm too tired to continue.
