  • Like I said in a much older thread (talking to Em..) I want a much more advanced searching system. Even with all the tool option helps off I finished this game in the time you stated. Lets do what I pictured someday and have a full first person walk around CSI where you can walk around the crime scene and look in on and under everything.. even if it has no meaning. Em argued this would be to hard for most players but I think its already obscenely easy. Also the stories in this one were not all that exciting. TOTAL lack of emotion at all fronts. Anyway I suggested the TEX MURPHY style approach to CSI .. im sticking to it! :P

That would be so cool. Ems right when she said some player might find it to hard, but thats the case with Hard Evidence. Plus at the end of the day CSI isn't ment to me a walk in the park. Thats the problem now days, always thinking about the new players but what about us veterans?

    I'm with you Kaldire!

  • anyone ever play myst V: end of ages?

in that game they had a full 3d enviroment, but switchable playing styles...

one was a traditional node based system with the usual "click to go here" format

the other was a 1st person full walk around system, where you got to fully move around the enviroment with the arrow keys

maybe they can do something like that in the next csi game.... and both sides will be happy :D

  • see dangerzone gets it! so does jay! em! read me!.. hehe..

In the other thread.. i forget which.. i had to give examples of adventures this worked on .. myst V is a perfect one.. though you had the option in game to make it (original walking) or new which was free roam. But with tex murphy you had a hight mod too.. you could actually raise and lower the camera sorta like a fake crouch or stand on the tip toes.
Anyway I CSI games as a snore fest until such interactivity gets placed. And I truly love csi.
check out tex murphy if you can danger :P great old game series that was... who owns those rights again.. hmmm would love to see another full motion tex game haha

    Off topic:

The developer/publisher for Tex Murphy was Access. Here's the game info for Under a Killing Moon. Look at the related games to get info for the others in the series.

I've heard many good things about these games but haven't gotten around to getting them. I hear they're a b***h to get working in XP though.

  • aye they are :P

also.. access hasnt existed since 1998 after many hand changes.. one included microsoft and indie software... indie focused on just sports soo this is why im wondering who has rights :P

  • Its usually the last person who owned the company who owns the rights. Unless someone else buys it before hand.

That Under The Killing Moon reminds me of Zork. That was a great game. But I think it would be cool if they used actual people, like Zork did in CSI.

  • yea again... there is no company so who owns the rights? haha

ill be making emails unless someone knows if access transfered rights or just dropped em. Hell I will email the original actors.. (hope they arent dead)

    the game will be called

    "Murphy? "

  • I just got the game and just finished the 1st case and i enjoyed it becasue it took me quite a long time to finish and the charecter interaction is better and the way u do fingerprints is better and the extra stuff u can do i was a bit dispointed that the extra for getting master is just the trailer for the next case :( but overall its very good i think and also i was always thinking between the 3 suspects who cud have done it and y which was cool
