Yeah. Playing for 2 days now. Pretty much hooked to it. For those who have no idea; 2D minecraft with a spice of RPG. Also seems to be less buggy.

Anyone else playing?

What IS Terraria? Watch TotalBiscuit's review, it's good!

TELLTALE SERVER (5.245.211.36 / Hamachi ServerName: TelltaleServ / Password: deathfromabove): OFFLINE

OFFICIAL LIST OF TERRARIA PLAYERS

Falanca (Friend me on steam: PureOrangeness)

Gman5852 (Still haven't bought the game, still on the list because I'm simply desperate)

The-J23

ted12

zounds!

der_ketzer

RetroVortex
Current Situaysh: Apparently, I host the Telltale Server.

How to Join the Server?

(For first-timers) Install Hamachi 1.0.3.0: Hamachi is used for connecting computers over any distance, and introduces it to your router as a simple LAN connection. This is required, since Hamachi gives everyone a distinct Static IP which is only usable for people in the same Hamachi network, and a Static IP is needed to host a server.
1.0.3.0 isn't the most up-to-date version but for some reason or another, it produces the best results. Latest versions of this software goes by the name LogMeIn, and it doesn't work as great to be honest. So if you have a newer version installed, install this version and run this one.

Download it here (1MB), install it on your machine, MAKE SURE YOU GIVE SPECIAL PERMISSION TO HAMACHI ON YOUR ANTIVIRUS/FIREWALL IF YOU HAVE THOSE, and also, reboot after installing.
---

Join the Telltale Network on Hamachi
If you're a first timer, you need some instruction here. You have to join Telltale Server that's spesifically set on Hamachi. To do that, when you're ON (the Power sign at the left bottom corner should be green. If it's not, press it), press the "Create or Join Networks" button (the first button at the right bottom corner, the one with three dots and lines connecting them) and click on "Join an existing network". There, it'll ask you a server name and password. Type those;

Server name: TelltaleServ
Password: deathfromabove

Then you're in the Telltale server. You can change your username in Hamachi settings (the second button at the right bottom of Hamachi Interface, and then Preferences...) so we can identify you better.

After the first time you log into the server, whenever you run Hamachi it'll try to log you into the Telltale server again so you don't need to memorize the stuff or check it here everytime you want to play. You can also see other people that previously joined this server, who may be either online or offline.
---

Start the game
When Hamachi is on and you're in the Telltale Server, start the stuff. Select Multiplayer from the menu, and select Join. Choose your character, then it'll ask you an IP address. Type this;

5.245.211.36 (same with the IP address seen in front of my own screen name on Hamachi interface. If you want to host another world on your own, you can give people your own Hamachi IP address as well)

If the server is claimed to be ONLINE up above, game will recognize the address and you'll start playing.

I can't always have the server online, and we haven't set up a schedule for it yet; so it'll mostly stay offline for now.

    Cool. I will most likely get this either today or tomarow.

  • All righty. Just bought it. Cant wait to play it.
    EDIT:Wow the download was surprisingly fast.
    EDIT2:Oh its one of those, click play and more things you must instal type steam game :(
    EDIT3:And that download was surprisingly fast :)
    EDIT4:My shelter
    As you see its a nice 2 floor house. I copied Total Biscuits idea of adding a door and being able to mine at night, and hopefully I can expand that area down there for when NPCS start joining. Until then I need some better weaponry and a bed so I spawn there.

  • @Falanca said: an amateurly coded game.

    you base the amateurly on what facts? There is one coder, the game is in beta and was released early because people wanted it and it is quite well playable since the alpha. Multiplayer is a bit of a mess right now but he is working on it and I actually trust him to do the stuff he wants to do with the game. The PR-guy is doing a good job to. Replying to emails / questions, noting reported bugs, publicity work etc.

    And y

    That's EXACTLY like TotalBiscuit's shelter! Neat.

    It's amateurly coded if you make comparisons with other games bearing the same price. There are also gaps left void intentionally -since it's only the beta- but I'll have to count that as well since everything the game offers you except for its primary idea (survive and build shit) depends its existence on trial and error. Sure, BETA means exactly that; but not every game releases a BETA and willing to change every aspect in the game. Still, it doesn't mean much and amateur coding isn't the same as lazy coding. Game's compatibility holds up pretty good for what it has to offer. I just think 10$+ isn't the exact equavalent of this coder's sum of effort went into the game.

    ...and thanks!

    Yeah, while building a shelter I started thinking "Hey doesnt this look exactly like TB's world?"
    Makes me wonder how randomized it was
    EDIT:Ok his world looks much different than mine looking back, but still that one area was pretty similar before I levelled it.

  • YAY more Terraria vids with Totalbiscuit!

    You can tell very easily I based my house off of them, but I am working on some new stuff as well. Ill show you a pic of what Ive got after Im done watching this.
    EDIT:There it is That for now will be my shelter.

    I even created a little pit for the guide so he doesnt bother me.

  • GOD, Jesse is so awesome. They play the game so impractical IMO, and I get a lot of facepalms out of it, but Jesse's comments make it so worthwhile.

    So I guess we don't have much players around and there isn't much of a way to get a Telltale Server work, at least until the next update in which they take care of the multiplayer problems, but I would really like to partake in such a thing. Let's get it to work people, somehow :

    Cant someone just make a server, name it telltale land or something, add a password for us, and those who have the game play together?
    EDIT:Or a better name. TellTaleria.

  • I played some multi yesterday with the guy that gave me his second copy of Frozen Synapse for the game. It was quite interesing but I should have made a new character for multiplayer. *makes a note for the future*

    EDIT:Or a better name. TellTaleria.

    It's not hard to make a server. It's just there are some rules;

    1- If one person makes a server and we start playing in it, all data (except our inventories) is saved on his machine. Therefore we won't have any way to continue from where we left off if the server host isn't around.
    2- The computer always has to be on to host a server. If we want to play in Telltaleria we have to be strictly organized with schedules according to the host's own, like, "everyday between 10am and 6pm Telltaleria time, except if I happen to go out with some friends and shit". Furthermore, we all live in different timezones, so it may be hard to keep a schedule. It'll benefit everyone if the server host keeps his system on for all times, but not everyone is willing to do that.
