SCOTT PILGRIM + TELLTALE! Make it happen!!

Hi everyone,

If you didn't already know, Telltale Games approached Bryan Lee O'Malley, creator of Scott Pilgrim not so long ago, pitching an episodic game to him based on the comics. (http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6300143/scott-pilgrim-creator-rejected-telltale-games-title-offer) He said no.

But wouldn't a Scott Pilgrim game by Telltale be awesome!? (More awesome than Jurassic Park, Fables, and Kings Quest, but that's just a matter of opinion.)

We should get Telltale to go back to O'Malley, asking again if they can make a game, because it's what the fans want!

Comment below if you want/don't want this to happen!

With the exception of Bone, Telltale has always done new stories in established properties, though. Sam and Max, Monkey Island, Strong Bad, they all had new stories rather then adapting old ones. Back to the Future continued the movies. Jurassic Park and the Walking Dead are about new characters and their stories happening at the same time as the original material. New stories in an established universe are much more interesting to me then simply replaying stories I've already read/watched more then once.

  • I think Telltale's engine is not flexible enough for a game like this.

And lets be honest here, Telltale's action segments have never been all too great...

Yeah, but I'm not talking about a Telltale game. TTG is the last company I want doing this. Their style just isn't right for it.

As for the new vs. old story, I agree, but there's something to be said for re-experiencing a beloved story in different mediums. Besides, like you say, where could they possibly go in the SP universe? Anything BLOM (and it'd have to be him) could write at this point would be sheer fan service. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely not on the same level as the original.

  • Thinking about it now, I wouldn't mind seeing this happen. If they can adapt the stories that were not in the film, but wouldn't it just be easier if they used the fight parts as cutscenes for the game? But using certain buttons to commence the character's fighting movement?

  • I actually kinda hate Scott Pilgrim. Never got the bloody hype.

  • I never watched it and probably never will unless somebody forces me to!

That can be arranged. BRING OUT THE STOCKADES!

How would being given my own personal fortress force me to watch Scott Pilgrim? Unless I have to pay the rent on the fortress until I watch it...

What a cunning plan...too bad I have seen through your schemes and will be building my own fortresses from now on! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

... Oh goddammit. This is why I don't post on forums when I first wake up. "Stockades" indeed. Harumph! I'll see myself out.
