[Spoiler]Clementine's mother

I can not believe no one has posted about this yet. I seriously believe that Jolene was Clementine's mother. Firstly, she had Clementine's hat inside her tent, secondly at the end of episode two she was focusing on filming Clementine. Now, it could be coincidences, but at the camp when lee and the cannibal confronted her, if you choice the "Where did you get this hat?" dialog option, this is what she says.

Lee: "Where did you get this hat?"
Jolene: "The little girl."
Lee: "You STOLE it from her."
Jolene: "So what if I did? You stole her from ME!!!"

So, the cannibal (can't remember his name :P) actually (if its true) shot Clementine's mother. You still think the bastard deserved to live at the end of episode 2, and do you think my theory is correct? :)

EDIT: Actually slash what I said, her real mother is named Diana, http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Diana, but this gave me another theory, do you think it was Clementine's mothers sister? Maybe her cousin? That would explain the You stole her from me part. It could also be her babysitter, who says the zombie in episode 1 'was' the baby sitter? She could also have a secret big sister that ran away/moved, and thus was not in the family picture? I know Jolene is related to Clementine in some way. What do you think? :)

Then again, if you told me that in episode 2 Larry would have a heart attack and you'd get the chance to smash his head in with a Salt Lick I would have said the same thing. "That'd just be funny, not dramatic or sad.".. But when it actually happened, let's just say they did it really well.

  • @Rommel49 said: I'd like to see that, but I have a feeling we're probably going to be stuck with him until Episode 4, with the final group (or lack thereof) being determined by Episode 5.

lol i just learned about narm, maybe if he died trying to help Clementine it would redeem the character and make us feel for him

  • I'm sure Duck's death will either be playable either from the point you find him as a zombie, or you discover him acting very unDucklike and with a visible bite festering on his side. Remember how hard Kenny is to reason with? Try it when his son is 45 seconds from turning and he's laying down that "anything to protect my family" shit.

maybe a shaun of the dead chain him up in a shed/ or in the games case the rv?

kenny is in denial and lee gets suspicious untill he hears or smell something 'off' in the rv and finds duck the walker chained /bound hidden under the seat or in the toilet/shower..then has to kill him as he gets free and attempts to chomp on lee..

or we have clem drop a bag of hammers on him...

As long as the people I care about aren't in danger, I'd be fine with Kenny tending to his soon-to-be zombified kid. To quote a certain somebody:

    "We'll dig one hole".

  • Jolene isn't Clem's mom she just went insane after losing her daughter to the bandits and her insanity made her think that Clementine is her daughter, we'll probably find Jolene's daughter in Episode 3, i'm sure Lee hasn't forgotten her.

  • any ways on the answering phone in episode 1 i remember that clemtines mother was called diane not sure on the fathers name

I believe her father's name was Ed.

The explanation is simple.....Jolene was crazy. She had lost her own daughter to the bandits. She saw Clementine, bare in mind children are few and far between by this point in the apocalypse. She wanted to mother Clementine so she could project her feelings towards her dead daughter who she couldn't protect. Her saying Lee took her from him is her confusion about who she see's Clementine as and who Clementine really is. She see's her as her daughter because of her fantasy. There was a similar situation in the comic where Morgan is loosing his mind and calls Carl his son's name Duane and has to be reminded by Carl that Duane is dead. Jolene's daughter wore green clothes, was around Clementine's age but was Caucasian. Clementine is African American.(see her profile on walking dead wiki) She is not biracial as both her parents are also African American, hence why most people assume Lee is her dad. Jolene was Caucasian so she couldn't be one of Clementine's parent's sisters.

What surprises me is how those that have suspected Jolene as being Clementine's mother or relative haven't noticed that at no time does Jolene say Clementine's name. She refers to her as little girl. Either she doesn't know Clementine's name or she doesn't see Clementine as Clementine at all when she is in fantasy. Clementine's mother knows her daughters name and refers to her by name on her telephone answering machine when leaving messages for her babysitter.

With regards to her having Clementine's hat, she found it. The video shows Clementine playing in front of the motel inn, though she would have generally had adult supervision it is not far fetched that she lost her hat whilst playing in front of the gate at some point since she couldn't remember exactly when or where she lost it.
