Fight Kenny or Talk Him Down?

I am curious to see how people played out this scenario and why.

Personally, I took the talk down approach. Sure, we all want a little action and who better than the guy who prematurely killed an old man having a heart attack right? However, throughout Episode 3 it felt like they gave a lot more logic and reasoning behind his actions. There is clearly something on his mind he can't get past and it might even help him in the long run to deal with it. So I talked to him about it and I think I did the right thing personally.

I never felt Kenny was "a bad man." He can be too impulsive, but at his core I can feel he is a genuinely nice person. I am glad I stuck to that feeling.

  • I don't remember if Kenny had any injuries... but Lee was messed up.

  • I did both, talked him down on my first save and I won the fight on my second (I didn't actually pick "fight him", it just escalated). Lee doesn't hit Kenny, he just pins him enthusiastically.

  • Before episode 3 I hoped the option would come to punch Kenny and follow it up with a knee to the balls. What does Telltale do: Ok,his son is dying and contrary to your belief he has been suffering with the guilt and the feeling of being responsible for leaving Shawn to die. Here you go, enjoy...

Damn you Telltale :( I couldn't do it

  • I talked him down, and he had some pretty good lines. Like when he called my Lee out on his "College degree and fancy education" or something to that effect, and said that I could never understand him. Plus when he went on about Shawn, and what he did back at Hershel's farm and how he knew this was coming... It really puts his actions in perspective for me.

  • Man you guys really paid attention that convo...I keep watching his fist :(

That's something I kind of love about Telltale and how they are doing his story. It happened with Larry too. I couldn't wait to rub something in his face for punching my out and trying to kill Duck. What did they do? They made me relate to his behavior because he has nobody but his daughter left to defend. Then they put me in a position where I couldn't possibly justify killing a defenseless old man with a heart attack.

It's sinister and absolutely genius :) I can forgive most of the few shortcomings in the story because of stuff like that.

Exactly. I am spitting fire about Ben right now, but Im sure TTG gonna do something where Ben so fully restores the group's trust in him (right before he dies) that only nazis and satanists could still manage an ounce of ill-will towards him. Hell, I'll probably be the first to write his eulogy on the forums.
    "Why BEN????"

  • Talk him down. Fighting him when his son is dying in the back car is immoral.

Hahaha! That would be quite something.

It may take a lot more than that to warm me over to Christa and Omid though.
