What are your thoughts on the new characters; Christa and Omid as of Episode 4?

  • Seeing that the game is trying pretty hard to make us like them, I would be extremely surprised if they survive next episode.

  • I didn't like Christa by the end of ep 3, and I thought Omid was alright. At the start of ep 4, Christa was kind of bitchy so I figured that I'd just dislike them more. However, by the end of ep 4, I liked Christa more than before. She's pretty alright to me. I like how she cares for Clem and got nicer. Omid didn't do much, so my opinion of him almost stayed the same, I like him.

  • IDK I don't cotton to Omid too much. Christa doesn't bug me but i'm not thrilled about having a pregnant chick in the group. When we were still speculating about her from last epi, I liked her more when there was a chance she wasn't pregnant. This epi seems to have sealed the deal.

I actually thought pretty quickly that when Kenny said the boat wouldn't hold them all, that it would be perfect if Christa and Omid stayed with Vernon (doc) and company. Medical attention all around, no need to bust up the original group.

  • Christa got a bit better this episode, but she's such a hypocrite. She doesnt like it when you keep secrets, yet refuses to tell you she's pregnant. Alright.

I've liked Omid ever since I met him. When I talked to him on the train, he said he's been gone from home for a few months. '"Our cat is gonna be pissed"

  • Just love my Christa and I hope because she is pregnant she survive the last episode together with Clementine and when everything works fine also w/ Omid. :)

  • I really like Christa and Omid. I did not do anything special for the couple (besides medicine) yet the couple was still enthusiastic on helping (a bitten!) Lee to find Clementine. They are good people.

This is unlike Kenny, who left me because I did not support him 100% of the way. I tried where I could. :c

  • Christa and Omid really grew on me in Ep4 although I was a huge Chuck Fanboy I would have loved his character to have been fleshed out more (no not that way) and seen him develop more in the episode.

  • As I mentioned in another thread, and I may as well repost it since it gives my thoughts on the pair...

I thought it was kind of odd how these two seemed to willing to help, actually. Christa told me that she and Omid survived by staying alone. They came with us, originally, because trains are fast. Then they needed to stay with me for Omid's leg, which I was a bit responsible for. They seem to want to come on the boat as well but this helpfulness seems odd.

Why does this pair, that told me they like to stay alone, seem to want to stick by me to the point of risking their lives to help out? They don't even trust us enough to tell us that Christa is pregnant yet they are going to put their lives on the line? What makes my group so much more worthwhile then their previous experiences? Makes no sense to me.

In the end though. I really wish Kat and Carley had stayed alive and these two had never shown up. People say, the Carley/Doug thing had to be put down but Omid has such a small role that we could have easily put Carley/Doug into it and if a pregnant woman angle is so darn important, just make Kat pregnant. Voila. Episode 5 is going to have wildly different setups anyway given how many pairings that can come about due do the choice structure so the Carley/Doug "problem" wouldn't be an issue there either. This episode really shows how totally needless their deaths were.

There is absolutely nothing interesting enough about either person that justifies killing off 2 established characters (one of whom is a fan favorite) in order to make room for them.

Agreed on the unusual niceness. (Otherwise Kenny must have really sold the couple on the boat idea, haha. )

Oh! The pregnancy interests me now. Maybe Omid doesn't even know? Maybe he is impotent; which leaves the pregnancy as a signifier that Christa has been assaulted or has cheated on Omid.

Though, judging by their behaviour I think Omid does know about the pregnancy. It is fun to theorise though. :P

Aw, you don't have to see the killing of those characters as a way to make room for more characters. The killing also strongly represents the harsh environment. The dramatic outcome makes you realise that the people you become attached to can be killed at any time for any reason.

For example, I actually felt fear when I thought Ben was about to die in Crawford. He was the last member of the (somewhat) original group who liked my Lee. I panicked because I had seen other characters I cared for, die. But this feeling of fear would most likely not occur with people if people knew that old characters were granted immunity. (I hope that makes sense!)

  • @chaz99 said: Yeah, Omid is all right. I'm hoping that Clem ends up with Christa and Omid at the end of 5, they're the only group members since Carley or Chuck with their heads and hearts in the right places. Everybody else is either an idiot or a selfish twat.

Im sure now thats why Omid and Christa survived, so that if we dont fine Clem's mother (I think her dad is dead), they can raise her after Lee dies. Maybe be a big sister to their new baby.

They were the only ones I took with me at the end,I finally got to tell Kenny to go fuck himself and while I saved Ben I decided I'd rather he stayed behind.

If Clem's parents are truly dead then,if I'm given the choice, Christa and Omid can take over Clem's care.

I like them but, if it had been possible, I would of swapped them for Chuck and Molly at the end.

Dang, I didnt think about getting the chance to tell Kenny to go screw himself. All I was thinking was, Im dying. Im going to need all the help I can get. I really liked Chuck. Im sorry we lost him. Molly is okay, and very handy, but she has a little too much attitude for my taste. Her smarting off all the time didnt exactly endear her to me.
