Lee Everett and The mysterious Case of the Missing Cancer Survivors

Where did they all go?

Theory 1: Vernon and them work for Walkie-man and left before Lee got back there. But then why leave all the food? And where would they go? Two of them need constant help according to Vernon, and they aren't the most agile, sneaky, people to survive on the surface.

Theory 2: Walkie-man kidnapped Vernon and Clem on their way back and they all left when they realized Vernon and Brie weren't coming back. But how would they know that? And if they weren't working for Walkie-man, why would they be gone when Lee gets back there?

Theory 3: Walkie-man killed Vernon and all his people to get to Clem. But that room showed no signs of a fight, so he either cleans up his crime scenes better then Dexter Morgan, or he ambushed them as they all up and left. But why would they leave that safe haven in the first place with all that food and protection?

Theory 4: Vernon saw the train and he, Clem, and the others made a break for the train to escape the city. But how could they sneak by a giant herd? And why would they think that's a better idea then staying underground and waiting for the herd to move on?

All seem unlikely as I cannot see them surviving outside of their underground home, or why they would even leave there to begin with. And why would they work for Walkie-man if that's the case?

  • what i was really surprised by is that EVERYTHING was gone, including the MATTRESSES
I mean, how many mattresses were there? like at least 5, they had time to take all that with them?

  • Too bad our sidekick didn't even make it to Savannah. He was a real champ when it came to solving mysteries. RIP Robin.

"working" for the walkie-man? Seriously? I hope they have a good salary :-)

    Let's be serious.

My bet is that they left with the train, to escape Savannah. Vernon asked you if you did come by the railroad, remember?

They used the sewers to move around quite stealthy. They do not have Clem, and they are not related to the walkie-man. The walkie man knows Lee, and it's probably Lee's past getting back on him.

As Lee is already a dead man, the walkie-man, when we will meet him, will not kill him.

  • My ideas on the possibilities are:

    1. Not to sound like an optimist, but, I think it might be a dream. It would be quite the let down which makes it doubtful, unless they kill all the greatest characters.
Why? Lee had fallen asleep, could be a dream, they had a dream sequence with a zombie bite in episode 3 where Clementine attacks us.
How could the Cancer survivors have planned to leave in what I presumed to be 8-15 hours to find a mode of transport (They never left Crawford, they thought Crawford was still run by the tyrants and was dangerous) with two people (Because two others are sick) in the overrun neighborhood of Crawford. Then pack the mattresses according to another commenter, all the food according to another commenter, I assume just with those two people still in the overrun city of Crawford or carry five mattresses and all this food through the sewers then find the car and drive to a safe place or the train and use that take that to a safe place. This is all assuming they aren't killed on the way.

    2. I'm doubtful of this one too, I would think that Molly would have knowledge of a group like this because she claims to have been everywhere. Though she may have just neglected to tell us and may be such a survivor she can avoid them or fight them off when she's threatened.
Idea: Vernon had a run in with a large group, the stalker is in a large group (I doubt the stalker is in a large group), or a large group has been stalking Vernon and knows their supplies while returning to the morgue and leads them back with a gun against his head. This would prevent any signs of force that Lee did not see because if it was a large group with a gun at Vernon's head because they would not risk his life. They'd then take the stuff and maybe then Vernon would remember the train and leave without the dilemma of supplies. This is all assuming they aren't killed on the way.

    3. Vernon actually is the walkie talkie man, he kidnapped Clementine, and left the home. He somehow managed to persuade the group to leave the building, somehow manage to pack with the small group which I emphasize below, and escape to the train or just drive away.
Why this wouldn't work? He has a bunch of food, thought that Crawford was still dangerous, so he would probably stay underground which would probably screw with the frequency.
He has different hair color than the person we assume to be a stalker, though the fellow from the burial may not be the stalker, who knows?
Why would he be? He feels that Clementine is unsafe and doesn't want another little girl to die (More extreme Chuck but I don't like him as much, though I do like him).

    4. Vernon saw the zombie horde and in the 8-15 hours (Assumed, may be more or less) realized that eventually they would run out of food and would be starved out and die so they needed to escape. He packs with the small group he has that I emphasized below and in the first possibility, and carried all the stuff away to the train through the horde (How?) and escape.
    Why? Life. Logic. Reason.
Why not? Carrying stuff. Time to plan and he seems to emphasize planning.

I don't see how the Cancer survivors could have planned leaving in 8-15 hours finding a mode of transport with two people in the overrun neighborhood of Crawford. Then pack the mattresses according to another commenter, all the food according to another commenter, I assume just with those two in the overrun city of Crawford or carry five mattresses and all this food through the sewers then find the car and drive to a safe place or the train and use that take that to a safe place

    They joined the camp.

There is a campman confirmed in the game who did not appear so far. There is a camp.

Or they are back at the train. No other choices here.

  • I would think that Molly would have knowledge of a group like this because she claims to have been everywhere

I was wondering if Molly actually told the truth.

Both Vernon and her were in Crawford before they became disgruntled by their rules (or so they say), so there might be a chance that they met before and know each other.

Also, neither Vernon nor Molly seems to be aware that Crawford has been overrun, so it may have happened recently?

At least, if the Crawford guys usually got out of their hideout to strip cars and apartments, Molly would be tipped off if she didn’t notice the guys anymore and might be interested in knowing if Crawford is actually still there.

Vernon actually is the walkie talkie man

As you said, it’s not likely.

If he meant any harm to Lee he could have killed me in the first place when Lee first discovered their hideout. Instead, he even let Lee take the gun, even though the girl told Vernon to shoot Lee.

  • Well it's a big city and she claims to avoid them as much as possible, she may have come to the land in front of Crawford out of desperation of not finding food anywhere else.
But I don't really think Vernon left his hideout very much. I'm honestly sort of suspicious on how they wouldn't have known Crawford is overrun, at the end we see the dead surrounding the place. But to digress I think it's possible they didn't know each other, she didn't seem surprised by him, I assume Vernon rarely or never left his hideout, and Molly wouldn't go inside Crawford very often or else she'd have the picture of her sister already so she wouldn't stumble upon them in the hospital.

Well the tape said bout 83 days, the group has been alive for.. 3 months, a week, and seven days (In Game Day Guesses)? 100 days so if it fell when Anna went on her shooting spree it's probly been down for 15-23 days depending on the fight put up by Crawford survivors.

Thought that Molly may be in a larger group just came across my mind. She probably had the ulterior motive of going into Crawford to get stuff the whole time and that could be the reason she doesn't want to go on the boat. It would give her a chance to go back to her group, assuming they're close (Probly not) and come back and take Vernon hostage. I doubt it and hope not, I like Molly and want her to be good, not evil.

  • They probably decided to get the fuck out of dodge because Vernon saw the horde coming from the railroad and decided that Savannah was going to be a death trap.

  • Fearing that Lee's group is not safe to travel with, Vernon got his people and went on his way to get out of Savannah.

  • I think there's a good chance the mystery man knows Lee only by name, remember how Clem has been talking to this guy quite some time? She would have probably told him everything about herself and the group in the trust only a child could have in a complete stranger. I do hope its not a pedophile though -_-
