Kenny wasn't . . . (Episode 5)

....suicidal

He wasn't suicidal.

Think about it.

He fights the walkers off. If he truly wanted to die, he would've just let them eat him.

He pushes Lee and locks him out. More than likely because Lee would've wanted to help Ben and wouldn't have opted to mercy kill Ben (due to all the Ben lovers on here).

Further evidence of this is the fact he backs away from the horde, the opposite of Lee's death march to the Marsh House.

In the Christa version he starts to say something like "Go! I'll me--" Like "Go, I'll meet you somewhere" possibly.
Not saying he isn't dead. Just saying he wasn't suicidal.

  • @thestalkinghead said: when he had 6 bullets you only hear 1 shot (you can not shoot any zombies at the part before the attic and give all the bullets to kenny)

I did not know you could do that, the only time he actually shoots more then one bullet during his "sacrifice" is if you didn't save Ben while he saves Christa's life. You can hear him shooting multiple bullets at incoming walkers.

  • Nope, he's pretty suicidal. We both went down but he refused to return. That screams suicide to me. And you cannot say that Lee wouldn't have wanted to mercy kill Ben. After all some of us did shoot Duck. My Lee also killed Andy and Danny, so yeah this argument is invalid.

There was no reason for him to die at all, that's why it was dumb, hypocrite, suicidal move.
As thestalkinghead, he could've saved his heroics for Clem.

  • He wasn't suicidal! If he was he would of just let himself become one of them, but he didn't. It was pretty much gonna be a one way trip because like Omid said something about a maw of darkness, with a possibility of zombies in there. Well, I was sure Christa was going to die, but of course Kenny tried to save her, I think the word is sacrificing his life for others, if you had Christa instead of Ben, then I think that he was thinking of clementine and who was going to look after her when lee turned, because they all knew that there was no chance of survival for Lee.

So, no I don't think that Kenny was suicidal, if you want to reply saying I'm being dumb and there is no arguement to be found blah blah blah then please do it will be interesting to find out what others thought :)

Why would I say you're dumb? I say Kenny is, but everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
I don't perceive his Save Christa move as exactly "save" cause it was him who pushed Lee and caused him to drop the walkie. It should have been him who went to get it, not Christa. If anybody was heroic here, it was her, knowing what was at stake and fixing something she didn't broke.
Kenny was just fixing his own mistake, which is actually a much better ending than "I'm gonna die for basically no reason - Ben death)

Some people do write 'you're so dumb, your opinion is stupid blah blah blah'

Oh yeah Kenny was the one who dropped the walkie talkie.... Although he could of just left it... They knew where they had to go, why waste time getting that out when they could of gotten more people to go and help save Clem.... But yeah... I had actually forgotten that Kenny shoved Lee's arm.

Thanks for responding I like seeing what others think :)

Of course the Lilly fan is the one that thinks Kenny was suicidal.

  • To me (had Ben version), depending who he is referring to as 'kid' it changes the meaning a little.

Either he saves Clem, or he sees kat again. Sounds more like he knows he's going to die/he's sacrificing himself.

Either he saves Ben, or he sees Kat again. Sounds more like he isn't planning on dying, but whatever happens it's all good.

Either way I don't think ihe's doing it just because he's given up.

  • He didn't say '' I'll me... I'll me... '' he said '' I'll be... I'll be... '' like I'll be fine/ok but he was fading away while saying that.

  • I got Christa's part in my first playthrough and after seeing Ben's I was so grateful. I think in Christa's he wasn't suicidal and with Ben he was. The boy had a bar in his stomach for god's sake, it was a forced emotional moment, put him out of his misery and get out quick. Lucky i got this on my second playthrough and knew what to expect. Christa was ok and was gonna die for the walkie Kenny got dropped (of course Christa was dumb to throw herself there only for the walkie, seeing that it was never used again, but we only conclude this after seeing that it was never used, so her motive was valid after all), so he saved her, tried to survive and we got that great scene with Lee even trying to go there after Kenny if you choose. That's my opinion at least.

I agree. Christa was right to go after the walkie. They couldn't know what situation the mystery guy was in. He could've been driven away because of walkers. They knew he would contact Lee if he moved because he apparently wanted to meet him. So yeah, the walkie was very important although they didn't got to use it again. Lee couldn't afford to go to the Marsh House and then go back to grab the walkie when he realizes Clem is not there. The walkie was the only means of communication so they had to stay on the safe side. For Clem's sake.
