We'll i need a game keep me satisfied until Season 2 comes out. So i remember reading about a Zombie apocalypse games called DayZ (which is a Arma 2 mod i think) From what i read this game is about survival by any means in it you have to worry about necessities like food and water and you are able to scavenge from cities and towns. It also allows friendly fire where a person can kill each other and raid their supplies. So i'm excited to play this game but when you die your dead no re spawning.

Now My Point:
So i was wondering if people play this game because i'm afraid if i play alone i'll be murdered by the bandits in no time so i was wondering if anyone had a steam and wants to work together and form a group on Dayz what would also help is if people have played it could give me some tips and list your steam accounts to so i can add you and we an play.

  • Sadly I don't have the game. Wish I could. Looks awesome. I'd probably end up like Ben though. I'd have to give the bandits all my stuff and help them do horrible things, like KILL.

    But yeah. Seems great.

  • I saw some gameplay on youtube and I was like 'I can do this!' so I bought it.
When I then started playing, I got eaten alive by zombies within the first 10 min of my game - and that happened like 3 times in a row.
Last game I remember, I managed to break my legs and crawl some hundred meters in desperation and pain before getting shot by a machine-gun from far out the horizon.

    So, ya, I'm quite demotivated.

    ok thanks man

  • Good game, but this game have a lot of bugs, and cheaters.

  • i dont think DayZ is a good zombie simulator, because there is nothing to do except kill things, and as with TWD killing things isn't the important part

  • I play DayZ every so often with my friend Nate. I'm ok at it, not the best, but I HAVE survived some pretty harrowing encounters with zombies, bandits, at at one time BOTH AT ONCE, where nobody else did. The downside is, most people are shoot on sight, so if you're not careful you can get ambushed or tricked pretty easily.

Like when Nate and I were ehading north for better gear. We stopped to loot a supermarket, and got sprayed down by a guy with an M4 by a bandit who'd told us he was friendly about 20 minutes earlier. After we returned fire, the zombies all over town converged on us in the supermarket, as well as aditional bandits joining the fray trying to kill us. Nate and I both got shot up pretty bad, and got cornered by zombies. I killed a bandit, had to leave Nate behind (he had lost conciousness just as the swarm closed in), drove another into the swarm, then had to haul ass back the way Nate and I had come. I'm now at the point where the two of us started our journey, low on ammo, and with nothing to show but a new plan and a slightly greater amount of paranoia than before.

Once people get all the good gear, they turn into bandits out of boredom and begin killing other players. I've seen Youtube videos of a group of guys who literally took other players hostage, held them at gunpoint, and began to force them to scavenge supplies for them in the cities like a group of slaves. The game gets really intense when things start going wrong, and you realize that you might lose everything you worked for hours to get. All at once. Once you learn the mechanics, it can be a pretty fun game, so long as you have a friend or two to watch your back.

Also, one last thing: Communication is KEY to a successful group. I've shot Nate dead twice thinking he was a bandit sneaking up on me because we didn't tell each other what we were doing or exactly where we were. Friendly fire is NOT the answer people.

  • oh cool story bro maybe when i get it i'll learn from the mistakes of other people. I have also watched videos of bandits i would do the same its all about survival.

  • It's basically eve online with zombies. If you don't like eve online, not sure how well you'll like DayZ.
