I can't opine yet since I've only gotten past Episode 1. But I think it's quite a game so far :) For those who have played the whole thing through, how would you rank the five episodes?

Episode 1 - "A New Day"
Episode 2 - "Starved for Help"
Episode 3 - "Long Road Ahead"
Episode 4 - "Around Every Corner"
Episode 5 - "No Time Left"

Post your rankings from best to worst. Thanks!

EDIT (01.09.2013): Current standing from all posts if we put scores to from best 5 pts to worst 1pt

Episode 5 - "No Time Left" = 115 pts.
Episode 2 - "Starved for Help" = 106 pts.
Episode 4 - "Around Every Corner" = 97 pts.
Episode 3 - "Long Road Ahead" = 68 pts.
Episode 1 - "A New Day" = 64 pts.

Agree. Should be noted as well that every time I see your avitar, the dull pain comes back... please keep your posts to a minimum. :(

Episode 3 wasn't a bad EP(I don't think there is a bad EP) Its my least favorite because it was the EP to me that broke the illusion of your choices mattering. Carley/Doug dying at the same place the same way, and then at the end the choice to save Christa or Omid was a joke, pointless and whoever you save repeats almost the same line. There was other things in the Ep as well.

I know there are similar things in other EPs but for me until EP 3 I still felt my choices were playing a bigger role.

Sorry man. I think i showed more than a few signs of clinical depression for days after that scene. Worse than the ending for me, but still my avatar can't be as bad as the GIF or her getting shot in the other thread!

I realised the plot was static in episode two when Carley and Doug did the same things and Kenny crushed Larry's head regardless. I was actually pleasantly surprised to see some actual gameplay differences when defending the RV/ talking about the past based on Carley/Doug

I had already accepted that your "choices" we about morality and character relationships rather than a branching story line, by that point so it didn't bother me.

  • 5,3 - And i dislike the rest equally for some reason :( - something about cannibals and going on resuce missions and crawford didnt really appeal to me :( any ideas to like it? i have tried but no dice... maybe its because of all the death in the episodes i like... thats sums ME up

  • 2 > 5 > 4 > 1 > 3

    2 all-around just terrific story-wise, intense
5 Short but (bitter)sweet. Nice tie up of loose narrative ends
4 Loved the whole Crawford subplot & Molly
    1 great beginning
3 is good, just my least favorite. The train set up puzzle gets monotonous with replay & the Duck part just makes me depressed. But the first half is really awesome!

  • 2,5,3,4,1

Two is still my favorite, because it has the best characters before they all start dying. Also the build up to the shocking and climactic end was great.
Five ends the game brilliantly and made me cry on at least 3 different occasions.
Three just went way overboard with the feels, you get hit with Carley's death, then Duck's fate, they fuck with you immediately afterwards with the zombie Clem dream, and then there's Katjaa's decision.. So much big shit happens.
Four was utterly exciting, especially meeting Molly and then all the unexpected things that happen at Crawford were fun.
One was amazing, and set up the story perfectly. It's only last because Telltale definitely improved the gameplay with each episode being better than the previous.

  • 1>2>4>3>5 No Time Left was just too short.

  • impossible for me. all of them are equally amazing

  • [LIST=1]
[*]Three: It completely trashed my expectations, punched me in the gut repeatedly, reinforced the "no one is safe" atmosphere, great development of the Lee/Kenny relationship, long, meaty and eventful. Only downside was the momentum falling off after they met Omid and Christa.
[*]Five: The conclusion of the Lee/Clem story, 'nuff said. Great momentum if a bit too short.
[*]Four: Challenging, lots of twists, very adventurous after the darkness of episode three, one hell of a cliffhanger. Felt a bit stalled after the questions raised in episode three.
[*]One: Nicely sets up the world and characters. In retrospect much lighter in tone than the rest of the season.
[*]Two: I just find the "cannibal clan" trope tiresome. Plus Lee shouting "It's OVERRRR!" felt corny to me.
