Four in February

I know people don't like me linking to Kotaku, but there's an interesting post there about a 'Four in February' initiative. Here's the page link

In short, the idea behind 'Four in February' is to finish four games in February.

...and that's it.

It's basically just a simple drive to get people to finish four games they've been meaning to get round to. No actual rules, just pick four games and do your damnedest to finish them all.

I've already picked my four, so I'll list 'em here.

- Halo: Combat Evolved - Anniversary Edition (XBox 360 - never got past the Library in the original version, so it'll be interesting to see if I can do it this time)
- Fable: The Lost Chapters (on Steam, since I picked it up and promptly did nothing with it)
- Ratchet & Clank 3 (from the PS3 trilogy - despite finishing the PS2 version I never got round to the PS3 one despite it being the best of the trilogy)
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Steam again. HATED this game first time round, but I want to see how hilariously bad the story is).

And if I finish all four, I'll celebrate by playing The Force Unleashed II. *shudder*

So yeah, that's Four in February. Anyone else feel like joining in?

  • Yeah, if I was really out of my mind, I could've thrown Neverwinter Nights, The Witcher, and Morrowind on my list. But I would've had to spend all February doing nothing but playing RPGs. As it is, I shied away from even putting one of the Fallout games on my list.

Speaking of my list, I...kinda already finished a game. I beat Sonic Generations last night. I know it's not February yet, but I did technically finish it before the end of February. Maybe if I have time after the other three, I'll add another game to the list. Maybe Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade?

  • Fallout 1 wouldn't take that long. It's maybe fifteen hours if you really really stretch it.

  • @Darth Marsden said: Or maybe you could just not pick RPGs. That might be an idea. :)

    I can't help it. They's my faves.

I'm also still playing Borderlands 2 and XCOM, but I've at least beat those already.

When I first started reading this thread I thought that it was to finish making four games in February.

    Now that'd really be a challenge. :D

  • 1. Vessel - I'm almost done, but I've had some trouble coordinating things for the final puzzle, so I'm going to get around to finishing it. I wanted to get all achievements, but Internal Rejection seems to be seriously broken, so I'm not sure if I'll bother with it.

    2. On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness - I just need to complete the final boss fight, but I've already had my ass handed to me a few times, and I really suck at these kinds of games. I haven't tried it on my new laptop though, and it was lagging like hell on my old one, so maybe it'll be easier now.

    3. Chaos on Deponia - I think I might be about half ways through, so it should be entirely possible to finish by the end of February.

    4. The Cave - I've finished my third play through, but there is still stuff to be seen. I need a break from it now, but I'm going to try out the Linux version when it comes.

My wife is giving birth any day now, so I'm not really sure how much time I'll have left for games. I don't think any of my goals should take too much time to complete though, so I'm pretty confident I'll be able to strike at least half of them off my list.

  • I think I will have a go at this. Good thing I have a week off, 2 weeks from now.

    -Serious Sam 3: BFE
    -DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue
    -Half-life 2: Episode 1
    -Trine 2

  • I'm going to replace Portal 2 with Sly Racoon (Aka Sly 1)

  • So I've gotten to 15 seconds on Hyper Hexagonest.

    Status: Double headache Terriyaki.

EDIT: I've beaten Hexagonest, Hyper Hexagon, and Hyper hexagoner in 2 hours, and I've gotten to triangle on Hyper Hexagonest. I'm not sure whether I should take a break to avoid permanent brain trauma or keep going.

  • So I've beaten Home and Snowdrift. Next is Walking Dead.

Well, you're doing a hell of a lot better than I am with that game. I've been playing since it released on Android and haven't made it past 27 seconds on regular Hexagonest. I haven't even tried out the Hyper levels yet.
