Yes ben may have been slipping them supplies, but they were leaving them alone, they only attacked because lee took what they were expecting to get, so yeah, lee's fault.

  • As much as I like Ben, I can't say that he's innocent. He was responsible for the bandit raid since he went behind the group's back and tried to deal with the situation himself. Though it's admirable to try and solve the problem yourself as an adult, it's not something one person can handle, let alone a teenager.

Had he tried to explain to the group of what he had done before or during the time Lilly told the group of the missing supplies, the outcome would have been different. The group would have allowed the bandits to take the final supplies trade, and then perhaps they would have left the motel for good to avoid the bandits.

Ben couldn't do it because he was too scared of Lilly, though I believed that his fear of her allowed Lilly's paranoia to grow worse, which enabled her to snap under the pressure and start a witch hunt. In the end, Ben's was responsible for the bandit raid which led to the deaths of Carley, Katjaa and Duck.

  • All I have to say to that: Ben should have told the group, so they'd have been prepared in case of a sudden attack. There is no justifying for not telling them. You blame it on Lee and Lilly for discovering the "betrayal" as it seemed to them? I blame Ben for not telling what he did, to find a solution for the problem before it escalated as it obviously did.

well mabey ben did try and tell them, or at least said it would be a good idear and knowing lilly she prolly forbid it, we dont know what happend between the end of episode 2 and start of episode 3

  • Hell, the whole reason Ben started the trade to begin with was because the dumb sap believed the bandits when they said they had one of his friends. He doesn't bring up the "keep them off our backs" rationale until afterward. Nothing about what he did was admirable, considering Lee and Kenny could've easily died on any of their supply runs in Macon and the theft of those supplies meant more times Lee and Kenny had to risk their asses outside of camp trying to replace them (and when it comes to stuff like medication, it's not going to be too long before you can't replace them).

And it's pretty obvious Ben never told anyone or suggested buying off the bandits beforehand; he would've been an even more obvious suspect than he already was (I know I wasn't the only one that pegged Ben as being guilty from get-go). "Supplies are missing and the bandits are leaving us alone, hey, didn't Ben suggest giving them supplies to leave us alone...?"

  • its lilly's fault for getting all paranoid and making lee poke around. nothing good comes out of that woman...

  • While I don't like Lilly much myself, what other option was there? She had proof supplies were going missing, and not investigating would have just exacerbated the problem. When someone steals vital medical supplies from your group, you investigate.

  • Lilly was in the right when she says the missing supplies has to be investigated, she couldn't just sit there and allow more supplies to go missing until other members of the group notices and start going paranoid too.

  • Of Course BEN was to blame,he made a deal with bandits behind every member of the groups back and put eveyone in danger. The group may have moved if they came under attack from the bandits at the motor-Inn to another location more safe.Lee and Lilly?? gimme a break

  • They have absolutley nothing to do with that. Ben was to blame and everyone would do that in a real world if things missing, you investigate & search.

  • I thought it was strange that when Lee took the bag, not even five minutes later, the bandits come. Really, what are the odds of them coming right at that moment?
