Cinematic Artist

Telltale Games is looking for a talented and promising Cinematic Artist to assist the art team in creating compelling in-game cutscenes in Telltale's proprietary tool. The ideal candidate should have a strong sense of composition, timing and editing as well as a good understanding of storytelling, acting and cinematography.


PLEASE NOTE: In addition to your cover letter and resume, please include the following in your submission:

Portfolio
A portfolio of samples that represent the range of your skills, provided that everything has been cleared for release by copyright owners. Generally, 12 to 15 pieces are a good sample. At this time we only accept online portfolios and no longer accept physical applications.

Cinematic Test
To be considered for the position, we ask all applicants to do a cinematic test. Click here to download the instructions, script, and audio files you will need to complete the test.

Please attach the video file or include a link to the uploaded video on a website like vimeo.com along with your cover letter, resume, and portfolio.


  • Responsibilities
    • Create compelling cutscenes and interactive dialogs with excellent pacing, acting, and timing using animation libraries.
    • Communicate with Designers and Leads to improve readability of visual storytelling.
    • Set up cameras and actor staging.
    • Balance quality with efficiency when working under tight deadlines.
    • Follow and maintain pipelines and technical requirements.
    • Work with designers and art director to establish continuity of the story with gameplay
  • Essential Skills and Experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good understanding of acting basics including posing and timing.
    • Good knowledge of cinematography and editing.
    • Self motivated team player.
    • Ability to quickly learn new software.
    • Technical problem solving.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Quick to adapt to company proprietary software
  • Preferred Skills and Experience
    • Passion for making adventure games.
    • Experience with character and camera animation in Maya.
    • Knowledge of Maya.
    • Experience working in the video games industry.
