I was under the impression while I played that it was supposed to be a pretty shoddy beard, due to the line about him "trying to grow a beard" in the beginning and the way he was depicted on the box art. His sprite definitely looked like he had an alright beard, but I don't think that was the intention.

Exactly what I thought. I think it suits him perfectly, it seems like the type of thing he'd do to try and be cool. :D I always prefered his look in the second game, and I like how this one is kind of a nod towards it.

Yes, but it's inconsistent. In the opening MI2 conversation he clearly doesn't have one (and the pirates comment on this). It magically appears after Guybrush stands up.

No one's complained about Dominic Armato coming back to do Guybrush.. yet. :)

But people nitpick about everything, besides these few topics, I think the reception has been very positive, I very much doubt the developers are at all bothered by one guy who didn't like his beard.

Oh, I know. I was kidding. It is true though that many people are complaining about the most stupid things: "2d was better". It just annoys me that people have complaints like that.

It suits him. True, new guybrush takes some getting used to, but he is much better than the MI4 incarnation.

I personally couldn't imagine a better 3D Guybrush.

I can't imagine a better Guybrush. Really, it took the scant few better parts of CMI Guybrush and added them to the amazing LeChuck's Revenge Guybrush.

The first time I saw the new Guybrush, I was a little surprised, but after a while I got to like the design. Heh, I think TMI's Guybrush has a little of every previous Guybrush in him.

Yes, I agree that Guybrush from TOMI has a bit of every Guybrush ever made. And I like him better with beard. It makes him look less like a wimp and more like a real pirate.

When I first saw the pictures of the new Guybrush, it dawned on me that if I put my hair in a ponytail, I'd have practically the same hairstyle/facial hair.
