Can't Preorder - [PayPal temporarily unavailable]

So I logged in to TellTale this morning and jumped for joy! Sam and Max was available for preorder!

I added it to my cart and proceeded to check-out, where I was met with a sinking feeling in my tummy. :( Where is the paypal option? I've already said before I'm unable to pay using a credit card - but I'm loaded with paypal and I want you to have my money (pleease) and even my first-born child if necessary.

I must be able to preorder! *twitchy* Could someone get back to me on this? Thanks!

The PayPal option disappeared from the store mysteriously in the middle of the night. We don't know why, but we've contacted our ecommerce provider and hope to have it cleared up ASAP. Check back occasionally in the next day - it will return!

Doug or Kevin is going to have to look into this, and I think they're both sleeping after pulling an all nighter on the site. ;) Don't try to order a second time until we figure out what's going on. I don't want you to be charged twice accidentally.

(If anyone does get charged twice by accident, of course we'll fix that for you, too!)

I was getting worried that yet again I would be thwarted by my decision not to have a credit card, and unable to get the game. I rely on paypal and similar services for buying things from forrun lands when I can't use my UK debit card.

The boxed versions are something season-set orderers will have the option to opt-into later in the run, and at that point you'll be asked to pay shipping.

Yep it will appear as something you can check off right beneath credit card.

it seems that the paypal-option just isn't working if you want to preorder the sam&max-game or combine your s&m-order with something else. i tried to order the s&m-prints and there it was (the paypal-option)! is this intentional? i hope not, cause i live in germany, don't have a creditcard and want my sam&max more than anything else!!!

Jake and Doug are working on the shopping cart stuff more closely than I am. I'll make sure they see this post when they get in from lunch. The fact that it shows up if you add another item to the cart might help them figure out what's going on here.

No, I think I wasn't clear enough. ;) It's quite the other way around:
If you want to buy just the game then the paypal-option is missing.
If you want to buy something else (at least this is the case with the purcell-prints) then the option is there.
And if you combine the order for the game and the prints the paypal-option is gone again.

Good luck in finding the problem! I'm afraid that if I have to wait much longer I I'm going to explode! (thirteen years are such a long time!!!) :D :D :D :D

With PayPal the funds are taken out of your account right away -- there wouldn't be any way to delay them until later. Luckily this shouldn't be a problem once the game comes out tomorrow.

Yeah, same here. Also, I don't think it makes sense to say you can't use paypal until the game is released. I just preordered a CD with Paypal that isn't released yet so I don't think there really is a legal problem.

Anyway, it would be nice if you could get it working.

Me too. I've got $34.95 burning a hole in my PAYPAL account with Sam & Max's names on it. Not sure if that makes it legal tender or not.

The system is not perfect and can be fickle but if you fail...you should try again. Log out first then start again. I had a similar problem with www.games-asia.com but the second time worked fine.

Playing Devil's Advocate for one moment, but if this were my store, I'd set up another item in the store 'PAYPAL only Season One'. As the first part is available, you can set the whole product as available for PAYPAL purposes and process as normal.

There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to do that, and that would be a quick fix and would take a matter of hours to set up, and not days. Then, you guys can take a breather and get the situation sorted at your own leisure.

The upgrade we're planning should make your total exactly the same as it would be if you bought the full season originally.

If you are someone who has been waiting for the PayPal option for the full season and you want to buy Culture Shock, go ahead. Please let me know via PM or email that you have done so and I'll make sure you are able to upgrade to the rest of the season for the right price, regardless of when we run that promotion.

Also, please purchase through our store (http://www.telltalegames.com/store), NOT through the demo. The PayPal path in the demo is a little messed up right now. (Another thing we're working on! :D)

No, paypal lets you do direct transactions. If you're just using paypal to purchase things with there's no reason you'd ever have any money/credit in the paypal account.

The only time you end up with money in your paypal account is if someone else pays you, or something.

If you go to the help site on paypal there are good descriptions of how it works :)
You'll want to get the Basic paypal account.

Soooo...I was able to buy the first episode via Paypal and informed Emily of everything concerning the whole season and stuff like that. Aslong as I can buy the whole season for the same price when all the Paypal problems are solved it´s ok with me :)
