Apologies if this was discussed in some other threads. Can't seem to find the specific thread discussing this, so thought of starting one.
Anyway, who was the first guy who greeted Guybrush on Flotsam island, the one was punched by the poxed hand. Went through the game twice and I still can't seem to find out who he is.

I think he's just a random guy who ends up being one of the Marquis' patients (I heard him screaming "My nose" when I went to the door.)

Leonard Steakcharmer (Boris Krinkle)? I know that I saw him somewhere...
These pirates all look the same to me. Hmm, that sounds a bit racist... or piratist.

He was in Telltale Texas Hold'em as Boris Krinkle, and in Sam & Max Season One as Leonard Steakcharmer. His name is sort of a running gag/inside joke. In Telltale Texas Hold'em, everyone tells him that he looks more like a Leonard Steakcharmer, and in Sam & Max Season One, that he looks more like a Boris Krinkle.

Hemlock. (A very unfortunate name). And yeah, I thought that, too.

Nah! He can't be Hemlock. He have two fine legs in the scene preceeding this image. And he's not old in any means.
There is a certain resemblance to Leonard Steakcharmer (http://samandmax.wikia.com/wiki/Leonard_Steakcharmer) though, but this guy is way too thin to be Leonard.

Anyone else notice that the original captain of the Screaming Narwhal and the Newspaper guy are the exact same person, minus some facial hair and skin and hair color changes?

Can't say I blame the team for reusing the models. It's hard work to create a fully functional model in a 3D environment, and all companies do reutilise the same tools to economize the cost of game production.
The point is the first guy Guybrush met on Flotsam just seem to be different from the rest.

Yeah I hope they can give us more variety in the minor characters next time around.

Another reused model, the guy behind the door of Club 41.

The minor characters were poorly done. I also didn't like how you couldn't go in the houses.
Still, everyone has gone on about it so I'm sure in ep2 they will have it fixed.

Since this is a downloadable game, TellTale is trying to avoid big size games I guess. That explains why you can't enter the houses.

Personally I preferred the illusion of a big island over having a potentially smaller island where you could enter every building.

I'm not sure who he is, but "My Beautiful Pirate Nose!" had me almost rolling on the floor.

He might appear again later in another episode, although you probably would regret it seeing as his nose would be missing - probably amputated by the Marquis.
