OK... we are probably missing something very silly here... but we have been stuck for some time now -- this is at the beginning. Wallace is talking to the general and keeps telling us to go talk to use his equipment and talk to Ms. Gaberly.. we have done this several times now bit nothing every changes and we can't more forward... Any ideas?

I got past this, but it did take quite some time - I used in game hints too :)

What sort of things does Mrs Gabberly sell?
Hey there's a magazine about golf!
She won't let you take it, it's reserved for Mr Paneer
But the picture on the front looks kind of like Wallace, doesn't it?
Mr Paneer said he'd consider inviting Wallace to join the Prickley Thicket Country Club, but he doesn't think Wallace is much of a Sportsman
So he might think so if you change the cover of the magazine
So you'll need a picture of Wallace. Where would you find one?
What about the newspaper that Wallace read this morning? It's in the dining room
Cut out Wallace's picture with the scissors
And then use the picture on the magazine
