There are an arseload of references. It's making my Alice in Wonderland sense tingle!

Just finished the 2nd chapter and there is an island called BRILLIG. Like in the Jaberwocky poem.

And the dude voicing Winslow also did voices in American McGee's Alice. In the first one I swear he is also singing something Alice In Wonderland related. And he says lad and things that make him sound like the Walrus.

It makes me want to go read Alice in Wonderland. Again.

I think there are a lot of references to legendary tales in "Tales":D.


Guybrush's Hook-Hand is of course based on Peter Pan's Captain Hook and in the end of Chapter 2 when the "Screaming Narwhal" is gulped by the Leviathan there are similarities to Pinocchio's adventure concerning Monstro the Whale.

And let's not forget mermaids as in The Little Mermaid :) Four stories that were made into films by Disney. And theme park rides...

Although, that particular section in Pinocchio is based on the ancient tale of Jonah and the Whale.

...sorry, been reading Moby Dick and that's mentioned about a gazillion times.
