He owns the costume(Bubs made him buy it), so he could have easily decided to use it for the new gig.

But, strong bad said that bubs gave him different types of breaks which he was using. Meaning he was still with bub's, which would mean option B could be true, but now I'm realing on option
C. this episode took place before that sbmail chronologicly(they have made toons out of chronilogical order before.
