I just played through the demo and am am about to order Sam & Max season one. Besides purchasing the game for myself, I would like to give the game to some friends as a gift:
Can I order and purchase the game for others as well?

Hi Laaaz,
This is a good question. I need to talk to Digital River and find out how it would work. You might need to place separate orders so each friend you buy it for has a unique order number.
I'll let you know what I find out.

Um, I purchased 2 copies in one transaction, one for myself, another for a friend whom I love dearly and want to share the joy with.
Now, I dunno how this activates once installed (I'm at work and I would rather not risk not being able to play at home) but... well, I'm concerned that there are going to be issues upon activating two copies with just one account.
I think I made a boo boo, any extra information would be appreciated :)

Thanks, I will keep checking back for your response and more details. Ordering the game separately shouldn't be a problem. I simply want my friends to know that it is a gift from me and be assured that they will be able to unlock and play the game with ease

Don't worry about it. Whatever answer DR comes back with, we'll make sure you and your friend can both activate and play Sam & Max. :D

Erm, me too ... I just ordered 2 copies of season 1 (and a shirt) for the same reason. The one account I ended up with works fine, but obviously I'd like the other person to have theirs too :)
Thanks

I got the same idea (giving the game as a gift to a friend), so thx for the thread.
Emily, it would be nice if Telltale Games adds a "send as gift" option to the purchase options. It would be especially helpful if the friend gets the email (or a cc without the price tag?) with the activation code at an optional time (i.e. I buy the game today, but the mail shouldn't be delivered before Saturday 20:00 o'clock because then I'm invited to a birthday party :-))).

Any update on this yet?

Vogge, that's a good idea!
We heard back from Digital River that you have already bought for a friend, you'll need to provide them with your order number and password. (If you don't feel comfortable doing this, PM or email me and we'll figure something else out.)
If you are planning to buy for a friend but haven't yet, the best way will be to do it as part of a separate order so they have their own order number and password. Use your own email address if you don't want them to receive the confirmation email. We can switch the email address on the order to theirs later on if you ask us to.

Emily,
I have purchased season one of Sam and Max twice (2 separate orders, as you suggested). How do I transfer the second purchase my friend. I would like her to receive the updates as the next five episodes are released.

If you email me with the order number and the email address you want on the order, I can change it for you.

I just sent you an e-mail. Hopefully the transfer will go smoothly
BTW.
I am enjoying the copy that I bought for myself quite a bit.

*bump*
Any update on a "nice" way of giving SnM as a gift? I like the idea of some sort of E-Card with something like "Hey, somone likes you a lot and wants you to play Sam n Max - here it is, download here!"
Just ordering it and then changing the email-address is not that fun, maybe the recipient of an email like this will delete it as spam ("Free game? Yeah sure!") if you cannot put a personal message in it.

Yeah, we really like that idea too, and want to implement something like this in the future. Right now we're a little too busy churning out games once a month, though. :D

...hm, I understand that :). But would it be possible that I order the thing (and pay it) and the "Download Now" email is sent to the recipient of the gift? Maybe with a note (like replacing "your order" with "your gift" or something).
Pleease :).
