View Full Version : If I wanted to download Monkey Island episode 1...

I seem to be having a little trouble downloading this "free" episode, so some help in that area would be appreciated.

However my real question is: What are the hardware specifications for this game? Do I need a top of the line PC for this game to work? My computer is a bit on the old side.

According to the info in Telltale Games' store:

System Requirements:

Operating system: Windows XP / Vista
Processor: 2.0 GHz + (3 GHz Pentium 4 or equivalent rec.)
Memory: 512MB (1GB rec.) Sound: DirectX 8.1 sound device
Video: 64MB DirectX 8.1-compliant video card (128MB rec.)
DirectX®: Version 9.0c or better

oh man I only have 1.80 GHz and 1.49 GB of Ram. I thought this was an old game and I would be able to play it?

I mean two previous old games that I've tried were Fallout 1 and 2; those worked okay on my computer. Well I guess I can forget about seeing if I'll like the Monkey Island games after all...

I wouldn't give up based on processor speed, especially if you have a dual-core processor. I have a Core 2 at 1.66 GHz on my laptop, and it's running it fine. It also appears that you have enough RAM.

Since it's free, you can always try :)
But set the video settings to their lowest, so a resolution of 640x480 and a graphics setting of 1.

And what downloading trouble do you have?

I thought this was an old game and I would be able to play it?

TALES of Monkey Island is out just out my friend, in fact, it's only partly out. Perhaps you are thinking of "Secret Of Monkey Island"?

They're fairly lenient on older hardware. My laptop is below the minimum requirements (1.8GHz processor and 32MB Radeon card) and it runs alright. I would imagine it should run decently with similar specs, especially on a desktop PC. You can always turn the graphic quality down and the textures scale automatically to your video card.

You don't have to download the demo, you have to download the full version. Go to the store, take Ep.1 on your chart and from the chart page insert the code and click buy for $0.00. Than you can download the full game, not the demo.

You could try adding the game to your cart and then using the coupon on the checkout. Preferably you should just follow whatever instructions they gave you, though.

But that'S the problem. I cannot chose anything else but the season pass.

Could anybody PLEASE send me a link to the page, where you can chose the episodes seperately.

What I already tried:

I closed my firewall and deactivated adblock and the firefox popupblocker.

I also tried IE 8.

I tried to activate the demo with my code - NOTHING.

By the way. I got only one email, and that was when I registered.

Is it because I'm from Germany???

was your gamecode in this email?
Then you should have the episode in your account.

when the game starts you should be able to enter your email and your password from this site. Not your Serial!
that should unlock the full game.

I "solved" the problem.

I had to create a new account with a new email. On the next site I found the download button.

oh by the way. Then this was your Store coupon.
If you don't want it you could send it to me via PM.
Or just wait until you can buy single episodes of ToMI and get Chapter 2 for free.
